In honour of Victoria Day (Canadian holiday) I watched the movie Victoria and Abdul. I love historical fiction about royalty/monarchy from any country - any great suggestions for me?

@Felicity Fields That’s the one! I really enjoyed it and Judi Dench is great. I gained some sympathy for Queen Victoria

My apologies - author is Steve Berry

Sadly, in my busy life, it is only on weekends and holidays
Help grow the Historical Fiction Club 🌱
Hi everyone! Thanks so much for joining. We now have more than 15 members πŸŽ‰ I'll keep inviting people to join and it would be wonderful if you could invite your friends who love reading historical fiction too. Would it be helpful if I created some graphics for sharing on Instagram, Facebook etc? This is easy for me to do in Canva. I'm not sure if you can select more than one option in the poll. If you want to choose more than one, but it doesn't let you, just put your second choice in the comments. Thanks!!

I’m so glad you joined! STEP 1: Introduce yourself, either in a comment on this post, or in a new post. Tell us one of your favourite historical novels. Bonus if you share a photo or gif that relates to the book in some way. Or a photo of your pet. Pets are always welcome πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬› STEP 2: Say hi to a couple of other people who have introduced themselves. Maybe you'll find some new favourite historical fiction and, in time, some new friends. STEP 3: Let me know if you have any questions! Enjoy! 🧑 PS Take a peek at our community rules. The Tudor and Plantagenet series by Phillipa Gregory, Pillars of the Earth series by Ken Follett and The name of the Rose by Umberto Eco are easy reads and a nice entry point to the genre
