What got you into music?
I’m curious, what got you all into this business? Edit: I didn't expect so many of you guys to drop your stories below, thanks. It's crazy how music can bring together so many people all over the world fr. Well guess its time I add my piece... I got into music at like 11-12 years old, my mom was (and still is) straight old school 90s early 2000s hip hop so that's what I came up around, and It started off same as a couple of you guys, just freestyling in school, that led to the cafeteria battles and you know how that goes, after the Ws I was locked in, now we here a decade later and the skys the limit

freestyling at the football games back in high school surrounded me with over 60 kids just listening to some raps and getting hype that type of social prowess felt wavy

What's our thoughts on this? Will it ever happen like how Drake did it or are Americans just too used to their own accents and sounds

Creative Commons, how do I properly use it?
Hey ya’ll, I hope you’re having a good weekend. I was planning & prepping my upcoming songs, making lists, schedules & all that good stuff. I realized one of the instrumentals I licensed only has a 1 year agreement period. My first idea is that I may use it as a promo song I upload to SoundCloud. My hope is that once agreement expires I can leave it on my SoundCloud with the Creative Commons attribute. I’m honestly not 100% sure one can do that. I’ve downloaded well-known instrumentals in the past, made a song and uploaded to SoundCloud with the Creative Commons license. As I learn more about music business I’m not entirely sure I can legally do any of that, even if I’m not claiming copyright credit. Any thoughts, knowledge or experience on this?
