my AI got me a $1,913 refund
Quick story. In September a software company (that shall remain nameless) charged me $1,913 that never should've been charged. I did what you do. Sent the polite email. ... Got the polite runaround. Sent another one. ... Got a slightly less polite runaround. Weeks of back and forth. Going nowhere. no refunds. and I was left feeling like I fucked up and did something wrong. I suspect… they were betting I'll get tired and eat the charge. Most people do. Honestly, I was close. Then I remembered I don't have to do this stuff anymore. So I handed the whole mess to my executive assistant agent inside LFOS and basically said "deal with this." Here's what it did: - Reviewed the contract I'd signed 13 months ago from google drive. - Read every email in the thread, both sides, start to finish - Researched the relevant New York contract law (the company's jurisdiction) - Drafted a response citing the specific terms they'd violated and cases in the past I read it, I sent it. 7 days later. Full refund. $1,913. Credited to my credit card. Now… here's why I'm telling you this, because it's not really about the refund. Every "AI assistant" demo you've seen does the same three tricks. Summarize this. Draft that. Make me a to-do list and a morning brief. Cute. But that's a chatbot with manners. What got my money back was something different. An agent that could see everything ... ✅ the contract, ✅ the full email history, ✅ the context of my business ✅ My brand voice and business context ... because it lives inside the system where all of that already sits. That's the difference between a tool you prompt and a worker you delegate to. And the refund thing is honestly one of the smaller jobs it does. The same setup follows my pipeline, watches my client delivery, pulls my numbers. The boring, invisible stuff that compounds into $100K months. Friday, you'll watch it work. Live, on my screen, inside the actual LFOS system. Not a slide about it…

@Carla Brown haha. ChatGPT vs Claude perhaps!?
the GPT news (and why I shrugged) 🤷🏼‍♂️
A few pretty well-known names in the business coaching space messaged me last week. Same question, slightly different wording: "Did you see OpenAI is killing custom GPTs? What do we do?" If you missed it: OpenAI announced they're retiring custom GPTs. No new ones. Existing ones get pushed into a migration to "plugins" over the next few months, and the custom actions don't even come with you. So a lot of people spent the last two years building their whole AI "stack" on GPTs… and just got handed an eviction notice. My honest reaction? I shrugged. Not because I don't care. Because nothing changed for me. Every GPT I've built, and every GPT my clients have built, still runs inside LFOS. Same as last month. Same as next month. And that's the part I want to talk about, because it's the thing nobody selling you a "custom GPT" wants to say out loud. Here's how I think about AI in a business. Three layers. 1️⃣ Thinkers. That's your GPTs. Prompts, instructions, knowledge. They think. 2️⃣ Workers. That's agents. They actually do things. Follow up, pull the numbers, draft the email, etc 3️⃣ The environment. The place where the thinkers and workers live. Where your roadmap, numbers, clients, pipeline, and content all sit in one spot so the workers have something to work on. Most coaches have a handful of thinkers. A few have a worker or two. Almost nobody has the environment. And without it, your thinkers are just chatbots sitting in someone else's building. Which is totally fine… right up until the landlord changes the locks. (I built on ground I didn't control once. 2008. Cost me half a million dollars. I'm a little sensitive about it.) So here's the shift: A tool you don't own isn't infrastructure. It's a lease. GPTs will come and go. Agents will get better every month. The models will swap out underneath all of it. None of that matters if you own the environment they run in. If you don't… you're renting. And a lot of people just found out what renting costs.

I hit the $100k/mrr Platinum 💎 emoji (here's what it actually took)
Last week the Platinum badge showed up on my Skool account beside my name. $100K MRR. Ten months ago I was on a plateau. But the badge isn't what I want to focus on here. Because what got me there wasn't anything I added. It was what I removed. - Went from four offers down to two - Went from a team down to one EA - Went from a calendar full of sales calls down to zero - Replaced the humans in fulfillment, follow-up and ops with AI agents Every one of those felt like a step backward at the time. And every one of them was the step that mattered. Here's what I've come to believe after 10 months of this: We keep adding because adding feels like progress. Another offer. Another funnel. Another hire. And the business gets heavier every year without getting more profitable. Removing is harder. It means admitting some of what you built isn't working. (Been there. More than once.) But it's the only thing I've seen actually produce freedom. Not just revenue. Freedom. Afternoons with my girls. Hikes with the boys. A calendar with room in it. A business that runs whether I'm in it that day or not. The badge came after those hard decisions. Friday I'm walking through exactly what I removed, what I kept, and the 11 pieces that have to be right for the simpler version to scale. Friday, October 9th. 11:00 AM PST / 2:00 PM EST. 90 minutes, live. Register and get your zoom link here Dan 'Less is More' Harrison P.S. Before Friday, do one thing. Write down everything you're currently selling and everything you're currently paying for. Just the list. You'll want it for the mapping exercise, and most people are surprised by how long it is.

Less is most definitely more. True for you and true for me too.
Which 2 are you missing? (Find out on Friday)
There are 11 small things that have recently connected that helped me have my best month in business last month with $166k Cash Collected. Things were working ok before... But once I got all 11 to connect... epic results. Here's the part that surprised me. I had 9 of the 11 in place and working. but it was just 2 little things that were not yet locked in... and stunted my growth. And they are most likely NOT what you think. Everyone assumes they've got a traffic problem or an offer problem. Nine times out of ten it's something smaller and more boring sitting a couple of steps upstream. Fix it and the whole thing starts scaling. There are a lot of people trying to copy my workshop system right now... but they won't be able to get it to click unless they understand and connect the 11 elements. Friday I'll walk through all 11. Then you'll lay them over your own business and see which ones you're missing. That's the whole workshop. Discover the BEST new way to get clients and grow your solo founder business past $100k/m Friday, October 9th. 11:00 AM PST / 2:00 PM EST. 90 minutes. It's inside of the Claude for Coaches Community. You can join here for $47 and get access to this workshop and ALL the other workshops I have done over the last 4 months. See you live. Dan "Workshop Master" Harrison
