@Philly Garrett I have done both. At one time, I had 3 properties while I was married, but then after we got divorces we slowly started selling the properties. By 2021, they were all sold, and used a lot of the money to survive and or transition to entrepreneurship. I'm renting now, but from my mother. So in a way, my money is going to build my family equity which down the road, will eventually be my own equity (I'm an only child)

Congrats on that first 25! For me, I just moved in March to a duplex that my mom bought. We felt this was the best move as I pay her rent, but I feel my money is going to my own personal future equity as the duplex will eventually be passed to me. Even though I'm in Arkansas in the US... as an entrepreneur I really see the whole world as potential places to go. So for now... I'm building DBR Bookkeeping to position myself for future investment opportunities. Home buying to me is seen as more than a place to live. But an investment to the future.
