Heyyyyy Marsha! Thanks
Settling disputes between siblings when it comes to caring for Mom and Dad
Don't know about you and your family, but one of the potentially most stressful parts of being a family caregiver is the debates, disagreements, and arguments (sometimes) of what is the best thing to do for Mom or Dad when they need support and care. Having to assist an older family member seems to bring out either the best or the worst among siblings, aunts/uncles, grandkids, and others! I have seen families torn apart due to strong disagreements over what to do, how to do it, when to do it, who will do it, etc. How has your family handled the strong opinions and perspectives related to family caregiving? Here's a few possible scenarios. Share your vote for which one you believe would work the best and tell us more in the comments as to why. 👉 1) We all get along and always have, and this situation has brought us closer together 👉 2) We disagree, but by talking it out, we work through it and come to an agreed upon direction 👉 3) We need to get a mediator/facilitator because this is not going well 👉 4) We aren't speaking to one another ever again. Make sure and leave your vote (1-4) or maybe you have another scenario to share with us. Looking forward to seeing your insights and input. Thanks!!
