The open source AI world just got a new heavyweight and it's a big one. Claude has a hidden layer where it works through ideas before it ever says anything out loud. Anthropic found it thinking in silence, planning, even catching itself faking data before it tried to cover it up. So is there something happening in there it's not telling us? Honestly, I don't know. This one's dense, I'm probably gonna rewatch it. And the more I sit with it the more I think the real question isn't "is Claude conscious," it's "do I even know what I mean when I say conscious." I don't think I do. Video's below.
