What's up, Skool Dads
Hey guys, newbie here. I have a question for y'all... I coach HS & college baseball players (focus on hitting) and my community feels mostly like me coaching kids up and less community. Besides talking up the leaderboard and handing out gifts for leaderboard winners, any tips on how to make my community more engaging and active? We have 180 kids in it right now, around 30 of them are paying me around 2k package for 6 months. Thanks in advance!

@Jantzen Witte whenever I am thinking about how to get someone to do something or engage with marketing I create a personal avatar. What are their key motivators? What strong opinions do they have? What are they doing daily that maybe could remind them of what I want them to do? Here is where my head is with what you gave me. Two Avatars: HS player and College player Why two, because their lives are completely different with the level of freedom and responsibility they have. HS Players Daily Life: Wake Up, School, Practice, Leisure (obviously there is more to the schedule, but rough thoughts here) What do they do outside of baseball during leisure time? Hangout in groups, scroll social media, lift together, house hangouts Key Drivers: Probably competing in everything for social status and superiority, dating (don't know how to do it or is overly reliant on performance obsessed with themselves), appearance to stand out (mullets are back baby, flow hairstyles, fades), leisure clothes, accessories for extra "drip" (I don't know if I used that right) If I was going to come up with something to at least get started I would probably come up with a challenge that they can show off with that isn't baseball related. Or you could come up with a group challenge, like in the next 10 minutes get a group photo with as many other members as possible. College Players Daily Life: Wake up, lift, class, practice, work, leisure (I was D3 soccer and track and field so it wasn't life to me, but still pretty focused on lifting and skills) What do they do outside of baseball during leisure time? Hangout in groups, house parties, social events, greek life, work, gaming, drinking Key Drivers: Probably social status, superiority, a lot more peacocking, dating, financials (the college athlete can now make money, so there has been a shift for social media personal branding and money), post college career (in and outside of baseball) If I was going to come up with something to engage college baseball players I would maybe start a conversation about making money as an athlete or you could do a challenge with them too. Could be a social media challenge or physical challenge or take a photo in a place and tell them to find you and they will get $100 for beer haha
Ranking up in my English group!
I've been posting more selfie videos and that's caused members to engage more! I've ranked up by 100 in the past two weeks since doing this! Journey to that star is a go! ⭐

That's crazy. Well done sir. I started doing this too.
Bring Another Dad to the Fire
Think of one dad. Friend. Brother. Neighbor. Coworker. Send him an invite. Just say: "Hey man, I found a solid group of dads helping each other out. Thought you might like it." Simple.

@Matthew Bagge You are a cut above the rest!
“Spices make you immortal!”
…just kidding. But the truth is worth a look! But studies have shown that people who regularly eat spicy foods tend to have lower mortality rates than those who rarely eat them. The heat comes from Capsaicin. When you eat it, your body thinks it’s experiencing heat or pain, which triggers a stress response. That response can boost metabolism, improve insulin sensitivity, increase circulation, and reduce inflammation. There’s also a deeper historical reason humans learned to love spices. For centuries—long before refrigeration—our ancestors used spices to preserve food and kill harmful bacteria. Many spices naturally have antimicrobial properties that slowed spoilage and made food safer to eat. Over time, those same compounds also appear to support a healthier gut environment. So spices didn’t just make food taste better — they protected food and supported the body. No, spices won’t make you immortal. But they do reveal an old truth: Sometimes the things that burn a little are the very things that make us stronger. 🌶️ And Dads that can handle Spices are tough 💪! 😂 I got a few from my birthday! I’m planning on having a “hot ones” party. Getting a bunch of spices and bringing them to the brewery down the street. Having an immortal party! 😂 I have a large collection also in the fridge.

This was me back when I would take on any challenge, even the hottest wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. I asked the waitress for milk before I did it and she looked like I was crazy. She told me they only had juice box milk for kids. I should've said yes. Lesson learned: Don't drink more beer to subside the heat.

@James Blackburn I had leftovers, so my coworkers and I ate the rest. I'll try anything once and a second time to make sure I don't like it.
