Client approvals?
Hi @Hugo Barbera - when working directly with a client, do you give them a set period to review and approve the completed work before issuing the final 20% invoice? I’m also curious how you handle it if they take longer to respond, or use both revision rounds but still do not formally approve the work. Many thanks!

Thanks @Hugo Barbera - this is very helpful.
What causes the most scope creep?
Hi @Hugo Barbera what are the most common forms of scope creep in commercial AI image projects? Which requests tend to look small at first but end up consuming a disproportionate amount of time? Thanks!

@Hugo Barbera where do clients usually try to push beyond the scope you defined? I imagine you’re very strict, but do they ever try to get more from you than you quoted on, without paying anything extra?
What's our real moat?
Hi @Hugo Barbera - we all know that anyone will eventually be able to produce a good-looking image with AI. Beyond the taste and judgement we bring, where do you think our real moat is? Is it our ability to explain: - why the image should exist - why it's right for this audience - why it could not belong to a competitor - why the product belongs in that world - and why the client should approve it? In other words, is the value increasingly less about making the image and more about the thinking that makes the image strategically right? Have I missed anything? Cheers!

Cheers @Hugo Barbera you're absolutely right, anyone can create a good-looking image right now. That's a good analogy! If you don't yet have a reputation, how else can you make a client feel that an AI image director is the safest choice before they have worked with them? I image the AI Survival Guide a plays a big part in this. Do process, contracts, AI report, product-accuracy checks and presentation make a difference without reputation?
How do you normally handle this?
Hi @Hugo Barbera - how do you normally handle aspect ratios when quoting for campaign imagery? For example, if a client needs both 16:9 and 9:16, do you treat these as two separate image compositions, or include multiple formats within the price of one final image? I’m most interested in how you scope this when the client wants something broad like paid digital advertising, which could require several different ratios. Many thanks!

Thanks @Hugo Barbera this makes perfect sense.
What went wrong?
Hi @Hugo Barbera - When a brand has a great product but the campaign still ends up looking like everyone else’s, what do you think has usually gone wrong before production even starts? (This is just a follow-up from your earlier earlier message about the sameness we see in a lot of AI imagery.) Thanks!

Thanks Hugo, this is really interesting, it adds another reason why sameness exists that's much more strategic, and this time has nothing to do with lack of talent or skill. Some clients just want the lowest risk, safest option... even if it means continuing with same result that's not really working. In the end it's just human nature.
