Cyber Monday (VIP Annual)
Hey everyone, So first, a quick update. We are now using this Skool group as the home for our paid Membership program, as well as a central hub for all free events and free courses moving forward! That means you can expect a lot more activity in this group, and a lot more resources and fun stuff to come next year. You can continue to use this group for free, with limited access, or upgrade to a paid tier if you want to. I also wanted to let you know that we're running a great Cyber Monday deal on paid membership. Today, you can get 66% off annual VIP membership for Cyber Monday. That brings the price down from $49 per month to just $16.58 per month. This deal ends Friday, Dec 5th, and the price applies for life (you will auto-renew on this deal). VIP membership is our affordable alternative to our full audio school. It includes a step-by-step learning path covering all aspects of the music creation process (Music Production 101 & 201) as well a monthly 1:1 check-in with a professional mentor for coaching and feedback. I have attached a video below that walks you through all the details. You can see the full breakdown of the different tiers and join here: https://www.skool.com/mastering/plans To claim this deal, simply select "VIP" then "Annual" at the link above. The discount is already applied. Comment below if you have any questions! Already part of our Membership program? Keep an eye out for an email very soon with information on how to migrate your account to this Skool group. Cheers, Rob

Question
Hello, I haven't seen Jake in a moment, is he good, is he still part of our mentors? I miss his warness while teaching and his "goog-timer"LOL

@Mark G https://open.spotify.com/artist/6EkKa58rGJ5799EpRA1Kjy?si=kiyaoyYNSD621jehZYSF1g https://www.instagram.com/killkarlofficial2/ His first Instagram account got shut down, because, well, you'll get it once you dig into this stuff.... 🤣 https://www.tiktok.com/@killkarlofficial If you search for Kill Karl or KillKarl on most platforms I'm sure you'll find him.

Somehow when Jake (via Kill Karl) tells me to go 🤬 myself it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 😁
Paid Events
Just saw on social media the next event will be $29. Is this a change from the original model of promoting free learning?

They have done this in the past. They charge for certain events. It doesn't necessarily mean they will stop doing free ones.
Matching LUFS for album masters
Hey everyone, I'd seriously appreciate if any of you could give me some advice on matching loudness for different songs on the same album. I've been mixing and mastering an album for the first time for a close friend/collaborator and while the songs all sound solid individually, we've found that they have different perceived loudness. Here is a folder with the single version masters, but I'm about to do a remaster for the album that's dropping in a couple of weeks. Wanting to get everything nice and consistent without compromising quality at all. Any advice? Here are the LUF readings for the different tracks. I know they don't all have to be exactly the same, but I'd like to get them closer. Lovely Lies -10.3 Breakaway -9.7 Blessings -8.7 Steppin On Love -6 Lovely -7.6 Pressure -10.3 Trippin Alright -6.4 Wave Chasin -9 Outta Sight -8.1 https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/10Cxzt1yFKUwBUOW9BCvRpJfCR_huU0Qb

I chuck all of the songs in an album into the same project, pick one anchor song (typically the loudest with the most energy), get it where I want it loudness wise, then get the other songs up to that same perceived loudness level (at the loudest part of each song) using metering & my ears. That should give you a solid result. If you flip between songs and they sound like they belong together, you're good. Simple and effective (thanks, TRE!) 🙂

@J Es Just to clarify, I do still use reference.tracks heavily, but on the anchor track. Then I use the anchor track as my guide and spot check the other songs against the references, but more importantly, against the anchor track. There are also no hard and fast rules. Some people may want their songs to sound sonically different from each other. It's really up to the artist.
Mastering Advice
I have a few tracks that I recently recorded in a music studio. Overall, I'm happy with the tracks and the mixing the engineer performed but the tracks have not been mastered. Just looking for advice on how to get these mastered. Has anyone used any of the AI mastering services (like from Waves)? Or, do you have any recommendations of a person or company that does quality mastering for a reasonable price? Thanks for your help!

I'm a TRE student and have completed and passed the Mastering portion. I can master it for you. I've done masters for some other folks in here. Happy to help.
