Yesterday I took Reggie for our usual walk around where we live in South Cornwall. Nothing special planned. No agenda. Just moving slowly and paying attention. I noticed the way the light sat on the path, the sound of the birds all around the small things I usually rush past. It reminded me that creativity doesn’t always come from doing more — sometimes it comes from noticing what’s already there. If you’re feeling a bit flat, stuck, or unsure where to start creatively, try this: go for a short walk, look up, look down, listen. Notice one colour, one texture, one sound. That’s enough. Hi everyone! I'm Kane! I've never used Skool before and have only recently been introduced to it via Kate who has been my partner in crime for many years! I'm so proud that she has created a space for all creatives to come and share their work, ideas, and stories, and it's so good to see it growing. I recently graduated in Creative Writing and am currently undertaking a research MPhil in Golden Age Detective Fiction and to help me advance my research skills, I have recently started a new podcast where I dive deep into the lives of the authors behind some of the most iconic books, it would be really good if any of you would check it out. So far the podcast has covered Agatha Christie, John Steinbeck, Enid Blyton and more - and at the moment we have a special giveaway on our Instagram (see image attached). I love writing, it's my passion but I also love to see people's art - something which I'm not very good at myself! But as mentioned previously it is so nice to finally have a space where I can share work and see and get involved in other's work too.
