Happy Monday from vacation β€” where my kitchen adventures have been a little quieter than usual this weekend. πŸ˜„ I am still recovering from a bicycle accident that slowed me down more than I expected β€” but if you know me at all, you know that a little rest does not keep me away from my recipes for long. This weekend I have been tucked in rewriting recipes β€” and one of them has me really excited. Swedish pink cookies. A family recipe that has been around our table for a long time and is getting a fresh look before it makes its way to yours. I am now on vacation in Oregon spending time with my son and daughter in law. We visited Manzanita, Canon Beach and Astoria. We ate at an awesome breakfast place in Manzanita named Poach 503. Wonderful food! In Canon Beach we ate at The Bistro with Chef Jack. Amazing food and cheesecake for dessert. We also stopped by a really great bakery and coffee place in Canon Beach named Sea Level. We traveled to Bend, Oregon on Sunday.

Hi, I’m Brenda from a small town in West Virginia. I’m a wife, mother of 5, Grammy of one sweet little girl that is now 8 mos. I love to cook and bake! I started sourdough January 2025 and I love making all things sourdough and using discard. I also love making yeast breads, cinnamon rolls and cookies. Not so much a cake baker.
