Hi! I'm so excited to be here. With the exception of one or two doctors in my 75 yr old life, I have felt unsupported by the medical profession. Once the idea of 'normal' vs 'optimal' was explained here, it became clear why. I look forward to being advised on proper labs and curated solutions to my various issues. I long to travel the way I used to, being able to scramble in and out of bunk beds in affordable group hostels and able to board a tour bus and walk up and down hills and be on my feet in museums. Getting older is not for sissies and I'm going to fight it with the help of the folks here!

Hi Jeanne, I hope with the questionnaires and information, you’ll be able to sort out where you need to start. I am a retired naturopathic physician at 69 yo and spent most of my career sorting out your pieces of the puzzle, where to start and what was optimal. I hope this will be a good start! 😉💖
Got some test done
Just got my results back from a fasting lab test and many others, everything is within range, but here is what I brought forth, some worries I have/had at the moment; increased appetite, I'll eat a nice full meal (good protein, carbs veggies) an hour later I'd be hungry again, I now have to eat until I am uncomfortably full to not get the hunger pains and hunger signals from my brain after 2 hours(yes I drink a shit ton of water when it feels like that cause maybe I'm thirsty..its never that). Bladder feels like it has shrunk, like constantly peeing, I am also always thirsty, like constantly so I drink more obviously I pee more, at work I lessen how much I drink but that does not lessen how often I need the bathroom. Also been dealing with weakness and numbness in my hands and feet🥲 Anyways all test came back "within range" so "normal" and I guess that means nothing is going to be done to help me deal with these symptoms. I'm going to be 25 this year, I've started working out again cause maybe that will help. I'm losing weight but my love handles or mid section or whatever look like is holding on to fat, I am constantly bloated. I'm scared and tired that this is just the live I will have to settle for. Never feeling good in my body, never feeling healthy or whole. Every time I look in the mirror I don't like what I see, I'm losing confidence in myself but I am also just exhausted (literally and figuratively cause my sleep sucks but has improved a fraction after starting ADHD meds). Any advice, or whatever is welcomed.

Hi Lily, It would be good to know what tests were run and what your levels were. Optimal and normal are sometimes very different as Kristin said. It could be many different issues-blood sugar, absorption problems, neurological signalling, thyroid etc. I am a retired naturopathic physician and it’s important to figure out the pieces of your puzzle. Hopefully some of the questionnaires will help you sort out where to start. The positive side is there are tests and answers to help sort it out and starting feeling the way you want to feel and be.
I’m Ready!
Hi! I’m Kenya from Texas. My husband sent me a reel and thought I should check you out. I’m hoping to get a lot out this program: reduced or no mental fog, control the menopause ailments ( these hot flashes and hips are tearing me up), and definitely lose fat in my midsection.

Hi Kenya. It sounds like you have a caring husband. How lovely! This is a good place to start sorting out the pieces of your puzzle. I hope you can make some headway. These are typical patterns I used to see as a naturopathic physician and resolvable with some changes. 😉💖
Hi, I’m Jenny from Iowa.
I’ve been a pediatric nurse for 26 years, left my job to focus on my health. I have extreme fatigue, gut issues and anxiety. My nervous system feels like it’s in overdrive. I’m willing to put in the work, not sure where I need to start at. I hope being here can help.

Hi Jenny, As a retired naturopathic physician, I saw a lot of nurses with similar issues. hope you start finding some pieces of your puzzle. If you worked night shifts, your adrenals have probably been in burn-our for awhile, thus the fatigue, anxiety and digestive issues. If the adrenal glands are out of balance, they will influence the thyroid gland, your digestion, energy, moods, thyroid function and female hormones. I hope you can get it sorted out.

You’re welcome! 😉💖
Hyperthyroidism
Hello, I am 42 and 4 months postpartum. I was recently hospitalized with tachycardia and was found to have hyperthyroidism, likely Graves’ disease, as I have high Thyrotropin Receptor Ab and high Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin. I’ve been put. on medication, but what dietary changes are recommended? Thanks so much (new to this community)

Hi Lauren, I agree with Kirstin. I am a retired naturopathic physician and saw auto-immune conditions post-pregnancy fairly often, sine there’s a hormone balancing triangle between the female hormones , thyroid hormones snd adrenal hormones. If one is fluctuating, like post-birth, it can affect the others. Organic fermented soy products like miso and tempeh help to regulate the estrogen and settle down the thyroid 😉💖.
