Need help or insights
Hi I'm in a new role, used to be or more to be seen as 'just an EA' i know im more than that. My new boss wants someone acting Chief of Staff, I'm ready for it. But I don't know where to start. For my first month I did her 8 months expenses, cleared and labelled your 12000+ emails. And now im ready to take in more or to show my strategic side, but where to start I already start creating her travel plan for next year, make some suggestions on her recurring meetings. But I would like to show more and do more. Any thoughts?! On where to start.

Hi Flo, here is a high-level idea/framework: First start with your company strategy - what is the north star (mission, vision, goals)? What strategic pillar(s) does your boss support)? What are the goals for that strategic pillar -if there aren't clear goals, offer ideas (that's strategy)? Think about your boss' challenges. What are the business issues they are dealing with (you have access to all emails)? How many teams report to them? What does your boss have to report to their superiors (CFO, Board Members, Investors)? What KPIs are they tracking? What risks are they facing? Create a mind map with company goals and start thinking about how your boss could better contribute to those goals. Start thinking like CEO. Hope this helped nudge you in the right direction
