What a Former Google Employee Learned About Land Investing
Most people hear about land investing and imagine buying a property for $1,000 and selling it for $4,000. What they don't see are - The months of negative P&Ls, - The operational expenses - The inventory that sits longer than expected - The tough decisions that come with building a real business. In this episode, @Eric Turnwald shares what it's really like going from Google and Reddit into the land business, leaving a stable tech career, building a company with his husband, managing a growing team, and learning some hard lessons about cash flow, leadership, and scaling. This conversation is refreshingly honest. No hype. No shortcuts. If you're in the middle of the ups and downs of building a land business, this episode is for you. 🎙️ Listen now and join the conversation. 👉 Don’t just scroll. Level up. We had an ecommerce business. The big overlap into funding land flips is an over developed sense of service. To a smaller degree there's a similarity in underwriting which products to inventory is similar to underwriting which clients and parcels to fund. Monitoring trends, colleagues, and pricing is a best practice in both business models. I traded options for a while. Understanding intrinsic and extrinsic value is key for pricing both types of assets.
