Looking for career direction automation + AI integration skills
Hey everyone, My current contract is wrapping up and it’s unlikely to be renewed. I’ve been working as an automation specialist mostly building n8n pipelines and AI integrations (Claude, Gemini, LLMs generally) for a media company. Things like CRM automation, compliance workflows, content pipelines, that kind of work. I’m also currently learning here in this community, which is honestly part of why I’m posting you’re the people whose opinions I trust most right now. My question is simple: how do I position myself to get hired, actually use these skills day-to-day, and keep learning on the job? Specifically do I go freelance or embedded? How do I talk about AI/automation to hiring managers who’ve never heard of n8n? What roles are actually hiring for this right now? And how do you balance stability vs. a role that pushes you forward? I want to build things, not maintain spreadsheets. But I also need to eat. Any direction or honest advice is welcome — what would you do?

@Wouter Munten I live in Nigeria
I'm dumb. Here's proof.
I was today years old when I realized I did not have some of the most important files that you need in the folder structure that Jake teaches. During today's video call with the VIP group, he went on a deep-dive rabbit trail about the ICM folder methodology that he teaches in his foundations course (free). As he was discussing it, I went to check what my root folder looked like and I did not have a Claude.md or context.md file!!! My productivity skyrocketed ever since I implemented his folder strategy over a month ago, but little did I know that I hadn't even implemented it correctly. 🤯 🤯 🤯 This goes to show that massive action beats over planning every time!

@Joseph Fioramonti's report is finished! 467 of you placed 4,683 dots on Coca-Cola images, and the results are sharper than anyone expected. You can read the full thing here: Semiotic Analysis Report — Coca-Cola Visual Craving Study 📊 What it found: People want to see the drink. The cold liquid, the condensation, the ice, a real person taking a sip. They reject almost everything else Coca-Cola spends money on. Mascots, illustrations, logo art, campaigns. All of it landed in the resistance pile. That gap between what brands invest in and what people actually respond to is the whole point of what Joe is building. 🌌 He just opened his own Skool!! and its free to join! If you want to learn how Constellations works, what it measures, and how he's using it with real clients, this is where it lives now: 👉 https://www.skool.com/constellations-2153/about Worth a look if you care about the gap between what people say they want and what actually moves them, he is also a brilliant mind when it comes to branding and abstract data. Worth the join. If anyone has Skools they are making that think fit with this community message @Aaron Quiroz about Collaborating with us here! Clief notes isn't just about me! Its about you all too! OpenAI vs. Anthropic: The Super-App vs. The WordPress Strategy 🚀
We spend a lot of time debating which AI model is smarter, but there is a massive difference in HOW these two companies are building their products. If you look closely at their recent releases, you will see a masterclass in two completely different go-to-market strategies. Here is the breakdown: 🔴 OpenAI: The Bloated "Everything App" When you think of OpenAI, you think of ChatGPT first. Sora second and maybe codex. Everything else feels like a bolted-on feature to keep you locked inside their ecosystem. OpenAI is trying to absorb every software category into their chat interface. Look at their recent Agent Builder. Instead of letting ChatGPT seamlessly connect to incredible, real-world automation tools like n8n, OpenAI tried to build their own closed version inside their app. The result? It feels clunky, restrictive, and bloated. They are trying to replace real-world tools with chat features. 🟠 Anthropic: Real-World Products & Community Anthropic is running the complete opposite playbook. They aren't trying to cram everything into a chat window. They are building real-world tools for real-world workflows. • Native Tools: Instead of forcing developers into a web browser, they built Claude Code to run natively right in the terminal, exactly where real work happens. • The Plugin Ecosystem: They use the true "WordPress" model. Instead of replacing tools like n8n, they built open standards (like the Model Context Protocol) so Claude can power them and made other tools became a plugin of Claude rather than competing with them. • Community-Driven: By letting the community build skills and integrations around the base model, everyone contributes. It stops being just an "Anthropic product" and becomes a massive, decentralized community effort. 💡 The Takeaway OpenAI wants to build a closed "super-app" that tries to do everything itself (and often gets bloated in the process). Anthropic is building standalone, real-world tools that fit into the ecosystem that already exists, while letting the community build the plugins that make it unstoppable.
