Whatโ€™s your favourite lift?
Mine is the sumo deadlift. Iโ€™m not exactly sure why, maybe because the conventional deadlift doesnโ€™t feel comfortable for me, and I suppose I just like lifting heavy things off the ground just to put them down again ๐Ÿคช

This is a measuring tool to gauge how hard weโ€™re working, or how close to fail weโ€™re working in our sets. You donโ€™t need the go hard or go home approach. Itโ€™s better to periodise effort, just the same as we would in our training. Gradually, over time, you expose yourself to harder work, higher effort, more volume and so onโ€ฆ Week 1 - 7/10 or 3RIR Week 2 - 8/10 or 2RIR Week 3 - 9/10 or 1RIR Week 4 - deload / reassess / send it We will discuss deloads on another day. Please put in your questions, or anything you would like to discuss further ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

I like to under-promise then over-deliver. I know low and slow will eventually get me there, injury free. Except that time I hurt my shoulder, and my knee, and my ankle. I can't train to full potential while injured, so I try to focus on long term goals...
How do you learn?
We all learn differently, so I want to know the best way you guys learn. Are you a visual learner? Do you learn by listening? Are you a reader / writer? I would say Iโ€™m a combination of listening & visual.

I learn by doing something repetitively. That's why I'm so good at sitting on the couch

Spent some quality time on the couch with my PT co designing my new program... which I love. I also played a round of social golf that didn't completely suck. I'm getting stronger so I need less effort to swing the club. Got back out into the garden and caught some vitamin D.

@Terry Dunnett Not yet, but perhaps we could get a group of TTs and head up for a simulator session and some lunch
Hi.
I watched a video on a study that was done recently that I thought was pretty cool and would share with you all. So they done a study on cognitive performance in relation to university students who have started going to a gym regularly. Not surprisingly they seen an increase I'm general learning, problem solving etc all round abilities. But what I found interesting was when tested during the time that the student would usually be in the gym they seen an even further increase. So it's like our body clock gets used to between the hours of X and Y we are going to exert ourself and switches on. So of you're studying or need to get a large workload done schedule it for around the time of day you woukd usually be in the gym. Anyways I'm Tyson, nice to meet you Terry's Technique fam. ๐Ÿ˜€

I work from home, so when I need to write a report or concentrate on a problem, snacks are my motivation. So I make make I've got some healthy go-to crunchy snax prepared. Either that or chips ๐Ÿ˜‰
