Bit of crochet
A cowl with puff stitches and double crochet. Now started working on a beanie to go with it.

Where is your favourite place to crochet?
We have recently moved from an 8 acre smallholding to a town house. Lots of things had to go, but hopefully we are able to keep my little old caravan and in a few weeks time it will be in our back garden. yeah! Spot the caravan in our drive ready to move! It’s a 1970 Safari caravan and kids would come and learn crochet in there with me.. I call it my crochet caravan…

Saturday class news
I teach at the local Pickering library every Saturday. Last week we had a busy class of 9 children. This week it was the half term holiday, coupled with the sunniest day this year ( we have had a lot of rain ) so I only had 4 students, but I love it like this because they then get a lot of individual attention. At the end of the session another child asked if she could join. Her mum asked what she would need. How much she asked? I am lucky in that I am a retired teacher , the only thing I need is to make a difference. So I have always taught for free. She would need to buy a latch hook £2 from me, and a treasure bag to keep everything that she makes. ( later she would need to buy her Cordmaker from me £8 ) I recommend that kids bring full balls of yarn, I take it home and wind it into smaller balls and these are shared so they have more colours. Alice 10 years old learned how to make cordcrochet flowers today, see photo Biddy aged 5 made a chain length face stuck on a sticky label background. she also made a coloured chain length bracelet and threaded some small beads. Lana finished her first chain yarn bag. Picture coming soon. Eva is still making her yarn bag and she made a cord flower too. It was a sunny enjoyable valentine day today💛💓🩷💞💕🩵💜

@Roslyn Hill I saw your videos. I wish I was introduced to lack hook when I was beginning to learn. It is good that you are teaching it to kids.

Member rescue…
Amanda has posted that she has a rescue kitten. Let’s comment about something that makes us smile. We don't have a pet at the moment but I think as well as getting to know our members, I think it would be lovely for everyone who has a pet to share a photo in our community. Instead of a crochet line up… let’s post our pets!

My mistake!
I am making the extraordinary pentagon cardigan. I am really enjoying the challenge to reshape the front “ that doesn’t align with a sweater”. If you’re moving from a hexagon to a pentagon, the construction logic changes completely. While a hexagon cardigan uses two large pieces folded into "L" shapes, a pentagon cardigan is typically a modular project using many smaller pentagons joined together. Because a pentagon has an odd number of sides (5), it doesn't fold into the symmetrical "L" shape needed for the viral "hexi-cardi" method. If you try to fold a pentagon like a hexagon, you'll end up with a shape that doesn't align for a sweater. How would you do it?
