The most beautiful metaphor for growth I know
As I was talking with you today, a memory came to me — a metaphor, for growth and healing. It captures beautifully the fact that healing/growth is not an event; it’s a process. It has brought me a lot of comfort when I was younger and feeling I wasn’t making any progress. Hope it comforts, you, too. _________________________________________ Chapter I I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in.I am lost… I am hopeless. It isn’t my fault It takes forever to find a way out. _________________________________________ Chapter II I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don’t see it. I fall in again. I can’t believe I am in this same place. But it isn’t my fault. It still takes a long time to get out. _________________________________________ Chapter III I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it there. I still fall in… it’s a habit… but, my eyes are open. I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately. _________________________________________ Chapter IV I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it. _________________________________________ Chapter V I walk down another street.

Story of my life 🙂
Start here: introduce yourself, then read Trail Marker 1
Welcome — we’re so glad you’re here! This space is about learning, sharing, reflecting… and it all begins with getting to know each other. Take a moment to introduce yourself: - Tell us a bit about you. - What brought you to Concious World Companion? - Maybe a dream, a passion, or a fun fact — if you’d like to share. No pressure — just a few words so we can start to feel who’s here with us. 💛 We can’t wait to meet you! Once that’s done, you can head to the classroom, have a look at what’s there, and read Trail Marker 1: The Journey. It will give you the information you need to find your way around here. 😊

And write your questions and comments here afterwards! This module is intended to give you an overview of the Journey, our community rules, and a bit of background on me and why I’m doing this. I can’t wait to read what you think!

@Josée LaRoche that was pure word usage. It's the gravity of impact of that inner child dialogue that I just sort of waved away when the topic came up. Hadn't given it much credibility of impact on myself in the past.

@Josée LaRoche I'm starting to feel the gravity of that impact. It started with our session this morning. I didn't give the inner child dialogue any credence at all really prior to that.
Let’s talk about listening.
I’m preparing our next conversations around listening — the kind that creates understanding instead of distance. Before I dive in, I’d love to hear from you: • What would you most like to learn about listening? • What skill would you most like to develop? • And in what situations do you find it hardest to really listen? There are no right answers — just curiosity. Your experiences will help shape where we go next.

@Josée LaRoche that idea of the rewiring still ringing in my head.

@Josée LaRoche you'll be the first to know!
How well connected are you to yourself?
I created a short Self-Connection Quiz I thought you might like to try. It will help you understand the objective of Trail Marker 4: Self connection… Not a test, but a gentle pause to check in with yourself and notice where you feel steady and where you might want a little more care. If you’re up for it, take a few minutes with it here: Click here for quiz. No email required — just fill the form and click “Show my results.” The seven areas it explores are: 🌊 Emotional Regulation 🗣️ Inner Dialogue 🧭 Self-Awareness & Inner Clarity 🕊️ Emotional Autonomy 🧱 Personal Responsibility 💗 Self-Love & Worthiness 🛑 Healthy Boundaries You’ll be able to identify the aspects of yourself you will want to pay attention to, once we start training. So… how did you find the quiz? Drop a comment with your Top 1 (strongest category), one area you’d like to nurture, and a five-minute micro-practice you’ll try this week to deepen your relationship with yourself.

@Josée LaRoche no, not a surprise, personal responsibility to an extreme. Really the polar opposite of where I came from - blame.
