Changing Editing Programs
My subscription runs out for CapCut Pro on 11.1. I am tapped out on money flowing out so I have decided to switch up editing programs! The down side, learning a new program. I have decided to go with DaVinci Resolve 21 the free version. I have heard from others on here it is a good option. I have heard it said many times, YouTube is no longer the go to place to learn things. Me being me, I did the YT search on learning DaVinci. Well, to all the DaVinci gurus, you didn't help! You assumed I knew some stuff! I was so confused and discouraged after watching a few videos. In my frustration I ran to my friendly assistant, ChatGPT to vent! Oh my goodness, I can't say enough about the step by step process Chat laid out for me to follow in publishing my first DaVinci video! What I thought would take me a month of learning, and practicing took just a few hours! It was a very simple video with some B-roll and music added, no fancy stuff like transitions and text overlay. But still for this 67 year old woman, I was excited to get it done without all the frustration! Bottom line, Chat can be used for LEARNING as well as a rock polisher for scripting! Just wanted to share the tip!

I too went to Davinci Resolve Free and there is definitely a learning curve and at first it’s can be real frustrating. For me it was baby steps. I had to learn the simple basic things first. I then add a little more features in time. I do go to YouTube for tips on Davinci but hard to find tips if you don’t know what your looking for is called. When I run across YouTube tip I bookmark do I have it for future needs. Davinci can do some amazing things, but I only use it for simple videos. I wish they had a simpler version for YouTube users.

@Jaye Brunner thanks for the info. I’ll give it a try too
My New Skool
I was among the first 500 members to this group. And I credit Alexa and the group for much of my success as a YouTube Creator. I started my channel at 80 years old, monetized in nine weeks and now I have over 43,000 subscribers. I have started my own Skool, “Old Me Living Better.” It’s only three weeks old but has over 250 members. It is $5.00 a month. Nothing else to buy. You get access to my guides and worksheets, including “How I Make $1000 a Month Side Income,” and my “YouTube Quick Start Guide.” https://www.skool.com/oldmeliving/about

Mike you are an inspiration. I too have been an early adapter member and credit Alexa, you and Ty for advice and sharing information with other users. I’m not near as successful as you guys are, but I’m still having fun and it gives me something to do. Peace

Recording using a laptop
For those of you who record using your laptop, do you use the laptop mic OR do you use something external? If so, what do you use?
