Copyright Change
Hello everyone. As I am down the rabbit hole of trying to self publish. I have run into an additional problem. I had already submitted my book to US Copyright office with my old title. Its currently in the processing status. Does anyone know how I can change this since I have redone the title using the guidelines of this site? Is there a way to change it in process? Thanks.

Good morning, Jerry! I checked with Elissa about this since I wasn't sure. She wasn't entirely sure either, but I'll share what she said. You can file a supplementary registration to correct it, but you may have to wait until the original registration completes processing. https://www.copyright.gov/eco/help-supplementary.html

@Jerry Hutcheson Absolutely! Hope it works out in your favor.
Greetings from a new member
Hello everyone! To introduce myself I'm retired after having worked 30+ years for one of the New York Metropolitan area's largest transportation/economic agencies. Over those many years I enjoyed a fruitful career, but always had a longing to pursue a writing career. I even took a stab at participating in a creative writing workshop, but I believe I was not confident enough about my voice at the time and stopped with that pursuit. Having grown up in the Midwest my mother always made it a point to take me somewhere interesting for my summer vacations, be it one of the major cities or an historic site. I believe unknowing to her, that sparked a drive within me of one day wanting to work and live in one of the major cities when I got older. That dream did come to pass in terms of having the opportunity of working at the World Trade Center's North Tower for twenty years. Yes, in case you were wondering, I was in the North Tower on September 11, 2001, when the first plane attacked and that is what my book is about. It is a moment-by-moment detail of my experience on that fateful day from the time I awakened until the time I was eventually able to lay my head to rest. It's been a long journey in writing the book after numerous drafts and I'm still at what I believe is the final one. In the beginning over that period of time I wrestled with a host of things as to why I should not write the book; that is, until I finally felt I had been given a purpose to share my particular story. The most compelling of them was believing God had impressed upon my heart His wanting to use my varied experiences from that day and relate them to spiritual insights and lessons. I'm so grateful I took the opportunity to attend the recent "Self-Publish and Succeed" Summit as it was packed full of juicy nuggets and since have been working to incorporate some into my writing, as well as into my author's brand--something I never had any thought about or consideration prior to this Summit. In terms of what is my biggest marketing obstacle right now [tag@Julie Broad], I would venture to say it is: "assuring that my content stays on par with my overall goal and objective, as well as properly documenting quotations and references."

Day 3 of the Summit is UP!
The Summit Replays Are UP — Grab Your Coffee and Dive In! If you missed the Self-Publish and Succeed Summit (November 2025 Summit) this week/weekend, good news. You can now binge the whole thing right here in Skool. You head to the Classroom and find the Self-Publish and Succeed Summit course and CLICK. If you didn't purchase a ticket, it's $20 to watch the replays. You'll get that back in value in the first session you watch ... I promise. Actually don't take my word for it! Ask anyone who was there - you’re going to want caffeine and a big notebook because the amount of value packed into these sessions was A LOT! Uncovering the secret to selling a lot of books and making an impact. Dozens of ah-ha moments. And at least one Canadian explaining what a toque is.☃ Everything is now waiting for you. One more thing: During the Summit, we dropped two offers that will disappear Tuesday at 5 pm PST. If you’ve been sitting on the fence about getting real support for your book, this is your window. - Self-Publish and Succeed Live Class (big savings):www.selfpublishandsucceed.com/liveclass - Authors Empire Workshop in Las Vegas — $300 off:www.authorsempireworkshop.com Go watch the replays. Take notes. Then move. Taking action now means we could be celebrating YOUR book launch this time next year. Your future author-self will be grateful you didn’t let this week slide past untouched. @Jerry Hutcheson Hi Jerry! Did you email in requesting an ebook copy instead of a physical copy? I searched through our email, but I'm not seeing anything. Can you please email me directly at team@booklaunchers.com? Or you can just DM me here. Either is fine.
Self-Publish & Succeed Summit Gut Reaction
After attending the Self-Publish & Succeed Summit, I'm so much more excited about writing my book and the possibilities it will create in the world. Thank you BL Team! đŸ«¶

Which Title Do You Like?
The topic: the need for organizations to bring in, appreciate, and leverage divergent points of view. The term I use for describing a person, team, or organization that has all of the styles is “playing with a full deck.” It’s a play on the term, “not playing with a full deck.” I want a title that is cheeky and controversial. One of my books is called “Best Practices Are Stupid.” People still quote the title 15 years after its publication. After reading the manuscript, many have used the “full deck” term when they realized they or their team/company were missing people they needed. The original title was considered too in-your-face: You’re Not Playing with a Full Deck. So I am considering “softer” titles. One point: This book repositions the card game on which it is based—Personality Poker—to be less personality focused and more on collaboration culture, and innovation. With that as background, here are the alternative titles I am considering. Which number do you like best? 1. Are You Playing With a Full Deck? (the current version) 2. Is Your Organization Playing With a Full Deck? 3. Is Your Culture Playing With a Full Deck? 4. The Power of Playing With a Full Deck Thanks!

Hi Stephen! Thanks for sharing some additional information about your book. Those suggested titles are a bit too long in my opinion; they read more like a subtitle. We recommend titles to have 3-5 words which will make it easier for your readers to remember and make it easier for cover design. Have you done keyword research? If not, I would HIGHLY recommend doing so because that will help you understand what your ideal reader is searching for. We have used Publisher Rocket for years; here's their website. I'll also put a couple YouTube videos below that are related to this.
