Do you ‘shop’ like this?
Sometimes the public landscaping is begging to come home with us. Have you ever done this? I’ve absolutely taken some seeds or a slyly pinched off a small cutting to root at home later. I learned from the best — my mom! 😂 This is where my seed collecting/hoarding skills originated — and why I have random seeds and dead leaves scattered in all the nooks and holding spots in my car. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂🙃😏🫣💚 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXxd6uVuZIN/?igsh=bXlpNGlveWp6Mm5y

Last year I was getting a plant from one of the growers at the farmer's market. The lady was really nice and we got to talking. She saw a short stem that had broken off a plant and gave it to me and said "here, you can probably get it to root in some water and plant it." It has done great and is a daisy variety.
How do you store your seeds?
I know this topic has been discussed before, but I think it’s great to hear what works for everyone. I used to keep my seeds randomly in a large envelope or ziplock bag. But when I started gardening again, I realized I like to be able to see my collection. I put everything in old binders with card sleeves. I chose categories that worked for me (Alliums, Brassicas, Flowers, Fruit, Herbs, etc.) I then heard about using an inventory sheet, and that was just the best thing I added. The most important part being expiration dates on the inventory sheet! So now I can look for my oldest seeds on the sheet without having to look at each and every envelope. How do you store your seeds? What didn’t work for you? Please share with pictures!

I have mine in this long plastic bin that generally sits on the shelf in my office closet. I keep them in alphabetical order. I order empty seed envelopes from Amazon. They're lined to keep the seeds dry and have a zipper seal to keep the seeds in the envelope. When I open an envelope of seeds, I'll sometimes just tape it closed, or I'll fold the top over and put the whole thing down inside the empty envelope. That way I keep the planting instructions with the seeds. I've also seen people get one of those boxes for holding photos like in the second picture. The smaller boxes are apparently the perfect size for seed packets.
Didn't know there was something great about having small jungle...
I was really furious at those kitties on ruining my plants, but... ...Realized that I was doing something great for them. With that intense heat, outside, those animals were just taking refuge within my small jungle. You can buy more plants, later on, but don't miss the chance of doing good. Would suggest to plant bushes or trees, so, some animals might save themselves from summer's heat.

Happy and Sad that it rained!
So, here in the Raleigh, NC area, we are in a drought. The night before last it rained. Today it rained again. But I'm conflicted. You see, Thursday morning, I put two seeding trays on the back deck to harden off. I had my pepper starts, a few basil starts, and my oregano start in those trays. Then I pulled my back right after I put them out there and spent most of the day flat on my back recovering. I think two of my peppers survived. The basil and oregano are gone. Not sure where, they're just gone. Guess I'm going to direct seed the rest!

@Dennis Wichter yeah. I’m probably going to get a couple of pepper starts and direct seed the herbs.

@Dennis Wichter The front of our house faces South, so we have two plant stands in front of two of the windows. Plus the hubster put a shelf along the top of the dining room window for more plants so that they could get the sun from the arch window and I would have more room for more houseplants! I might have a good selection of oxygen purifiers!
