Show off your pollinators, pest controllers, and perpetual powerhouses — from insects and companion plants to anything beneficial — on this day of honoring all the rebel forces for good. I have these marigolds lined up next to my tomato plants. I also have zinnias, nasturtiums and more marigolds in the tomato pots but they are all seedlings. Need to remember to start those earlier next time!
How do you store your seeds?
I know this topic has been discussed before, but I think it’s great to hear what works for everyone. I used to keep my seeds randomly in a large envelope or ziplock bag. But when I started gardening again, I realized I like to be able to see my collection. I put everything in old binders with card sleeves. I chose categories that worked for me (Alliums, Brassicas, Flowers, Fruit, Herbs, etc.) I then heard about using an inventory sheet, and that was just the best thing I added. The most important part being expiration dates on the inventory sheet! So now I can look for my oldest seeds on the sheet without having to look at each and every envelope. How do you store your seeds? What didn’t work for you? Please share with pictures!

@Julie Vigil I wonder if they can work with the East Las Vegas Seed Share. They get seeds and load up free seed libraries around the valley. Most are located in the East side, but they are in community centers.

@Dennis Wichter I follow them on IG and I think I may have actually visited her house! It was listed as a seed library, but no seeds were available and someone went inside and got some seeds for me. They also have a Little Free Library and other things on their property. I want to visit her other seed libraries at some point. It would be amazing if they were able to work with the libraries!

@Julie Vigil I did see a few out there this morning…not sure what happens to all of them though. I put them next to some aphids and they didn’t do anything to them. 😕

@Julie Vigil My second cocoon hatched today too! I’m not sure when it happened though as I only noticed after dinner. But it’s so windy out there…I hope they survive!
Planting a dream, growing community
This isn’t our typical content, but this teacher’s story is powerful and meant to be shared. It’s about having a dream, taking a chance, finding and creating your own opportunities, and growing a community. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and maybe be inspired to take a scary first step. 🌼🌸🌺🌻💐💐💐 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXx--v9t9Ba/?igsh=NTZ3OWJ6cmpiYmF4

That’s so amazing! I love her story! I can see many people saying yes to this. Who wouldn’t want a yard full of flowers?!
Do you ‘shop’ like this?
Sometimes the public landscaping is begging to come home with us. Have you ever done this? I’ve absolutely taken some seeds or a slyly pinched off a small cutting to root at home later. I learned from the best — my mom! 😂 This is where my seed collecting/hoarding skills originated — and why I have random seeds and dead leaves scattered in all the nooks and holding spots in my car. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂🙃😏🫣💚 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXxd6uVuZIN/?igsh=bXlpNGlveWp6Mm5y

I’ve visited some family and friends and will notice their plants and ask if I can take some cuttings. I’m not as aware of what’s growing publicly. 😂
