Editor Advice
Hi. I’ve found an editor for the start of my novel. This is the first time I’ve got an editor and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience or advice on what you need to do/check before you go ahead with it. Thanks.

That’s exciting, congratulations on taking that step with your novel. One important thing is to make sure you’re both clear on the type of editing being provided, whether it’s developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, or a combination. It also helps to discuss timelines, communication style, pricing, revision expectations, and whether they provide sample edits or feedback notes. Most importantly, make sure you feel comfortable with their understanding of your voice and vision for the story. Wishing you the best with your editing journey!

Why Do So Many Writers Start but Never Finish?
You open your draft. Read the first page. Suddenly it feels terrible, you delete a paragraph. Rewrite the same sentence five times. Close the document, you tell yourself you’ll fix it tomorrow. How many “almost finished” books do you have right now?

Beta Readers - Middle Grade Mystery
Hi guys - hope you are all well. I've finished a middle grade mystery, Our Children in the Shadows, which im hoping to release soon. Does anybody know of any beta readers - or sites/groups who might be able to assist for some honest reviews before my launch day. Any suggestions would be most welcome :D

For me the best answer is C) Editing & polishing
