Fingering
Jimmy - this is a Django lick from Si Tu Savais - 1947. Would you finger that starting with the index finger on fret 7 on the B string? We were discussing this elsewhere. You might need to zoom in to see the entire lick.

I would start with index finger on the 7th fret. It makes sense, as a lick over Bm, to be in that position tethered to the 7th fret.

F major and fminor voicing
Goodmorning, in the minor swing song "all of me" there is a F chord voicing and a Fmin chord voicing. On which fret do you guys play those chords. May i have an example of those chords? Thnx greatz from Holland

While playing exactly the same notes, you can bar the c+f with your middle finger, and the d+g with your ring finger. Not only do i find this easier to play in general, (just personal taste). It actually puts your fingers in a great spot to play the 2,5,1s Try cm7, g7, f69 and how you can alternate between g7 and f69 by just shifting your fingers over a string.
Another little ditty for today (more "All of Me")
I started transcribing the Jimmy Rosenberg recording of "All of Me".. I'm pretty positive this record was sped up, because I had to tune my guitar to the recording (it's halfway between a half-step off!). There are some classic lines in this solo!

It's Jimmy, so maybe it was slowed down instead. 😄
What's everyone working on?
I recently pulled up this waltz I used to play by Wasso Grunholz, known as Valse De Wasso! I've been obsessing over his compositions the last few days. I find it incredible that one guitarist who never recorded anything, still has managed to leave a legacy.
