The County Fair.
What Can The County Fair Teach Us About Marketing? Let's Take A Look. Mr. Promo At The County Fair. Alright… stay close. I’ve just stepped onto the grounds of a good old-fashioned county fair and let me tell you something — if you want to study attention in the wild, this place is a goldmine. Lights flashing everywhere. Music from the rides. People laughing, shouting, winning prizes. And the smell… my friend, the smell of funnel cake alone could stop traffic. Now I’ve been walking these fairgrounds for a few minutes, just taking it all in, and I’ll be honest with you — I couldn’t resist grabbing a lemonade and a fresh funnel cake. Sometimes you’ve got to enjoy the environment while you study it. But something just caught my attention over here. Come with me. See that game booth? Now there are dozens of them lined up down this row… every one of them trying to get people to stop and play. But this one? This one has a crowd. Let’s watch for a second. There it is! Did you see that kid just walk away with that giant stuffed bear? The whole crowd reacted at the same time. People laughing. Pointing. Now watch what happens next. One person steps up to try the game. Then another. Then another. Interesting. Now I’ve got to ask the man running this booth something. Excuse me, my friend… quick question for you. How do you get a crowd like this when every booth here is trying to do the same thing? He smiles. “Simple,” he says. “I let someone win early.” Now that… that right there is fascinating. Did you catch that? He doesn’t start the game by begging people to play. He starts by letting someone win. And the moment people see a winner, everything changes. Suddenly the game feels possible. Suddenly people believe they might be next. And just like that… a crowd forms. That’s not luck. That’s strategy. You see, people are drawn to visible success. When they see someone else winning, they don’t need convincing. They want to experience it for themselves. Now I’m going to finish this lemonade and keep exploring these fairgrounds, because I have a feeling there are a few more promotional behaviors hiding out here tonight.

What's a little scary... and I have no doubt it can be true... is he "lets someone win early", lol.
The Food Court
The Mall Food Court Mr. Promo walks through the food court slowly. Not to eat. To watch. One restaurant has a huge line. The one next to it is empty. Same prices. Same food. Different presentation. Mr. Promo notices one thing. Samples. Tiny chicken pieces on toothpicks. People stop. People taste. People buy. Mr. Promo nods. “People rarely buy what they haven’t tasted.” Lesson: Let people experience your product before asking them to buy. did you hear that? Let People Experience Your Product Before Asking Them To Buy. That Is Marketing.

$99 Marketing Blitz
I don’t normally do this, but for the next week, I’m opening up my schedule to help any product/service based business owner here clarify their message so customers start engaging without confusing them and turning them away before they buy. Click here to Book Your Blitz. I’ve helped 100s of business solve their marketing problems, clarify their message, and grow their business. My guarantee: If you aren’t satisfied with the words we clarify in our blitz session, I’ll work with you until it’s just right. Marketing shouldn’t be a black box investment. I have only 20 spots left available and the deadline is this Saturday.

Nice, Jonathon! I hope you fill it up. :)
BIG WIN!!!
I know the value of building our own brand channels, content and communities. But one of the things we also need to consider as we grow is our ability to step on to other people's stages. I just got booked on one of the larger YouTube stages (150K subscribers) in my ecosystem. I will be giving a 1 hour talk on 3/26. I am not sharing the link since this isn't the right audience for the topic I'll be speaking about -- but I just want to remind you about the power of collaboration and stepping on to larger stages to grow your own. I hope that gives you some inspiration.
BIG WIN!!!

That's incredible, congrats! One to-many selling is much better any day than 1 to 1!
Now a word on compliance (paid influencer)
Hi Everyone, I am 8 weeks from finishing law school with an MSL (Master of Studies in Law), and one of my classes is in Digital Media Transactions. This article came from this week's lesson about FTC social media influencer disclosure requirements. I'd love to know who applies this to their regular practice or your thoughts about it related to ambassador roles, affiliate links, and paid sponsorship: https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/disclosures-101-social-media-influencers I share mostly so we can discuss best practices with each other as we are or are growing to become monetized influencers and content creators. Best, Philippa

I need to pay better attention to these regulations. When I post an affiliate link sometimes I'll say something like "I might make a few dollars if you buy through this link", or something similar. But sometimes I forget. :P
