What is your "Friction Point"?
Look around your room. What is the one small thing that always feels messy? For me, its the kid chaos! I am so very grateful for healthy and creative children that love to play, but the mess that creates is something that is REALLY hard on what has recently been described as my neurospicy mind. The chaos triggers a part of my soul that needs 25 deep breathes to move forward some days. So, Im going to choose a project that may help "fix" it. What's your mess?

The Drunken Caterpillar
Tuesdays are for celebrating taking that bold step and trying. It doesn't matter if you're an old pro or brand spanking new, if you tried a new stitch, a first stitch or attempted writing your own pattern today, we want to see it! This is my first attempt at the diamond stitch. Word of warning ⚠️ do not attempt while managing a migraine! I will admit, I did start over once (in my head, I took a picture of that, but the evidence is no where to be found) and at one point I had to put it down all together. I just could not see straight! But, alas, here she is!

This Tuesday I have plans. Packing up Christmas decorations! Yes, I know I’m behind, but that’s okay. Tonight I will try to do at least another scrabble.
The First Loop Of Peace
What am I even talking about, right? At the beginning of every project is the slip knot. It is the knot that tells your first stitch where it begins. Sounds like a lot of pressure huh? Not really. It truly is just a knot AND there is no wrong way to do it! There are however a feW key things to keep in mind when creating your knot. - It is helpful to have your knot adjustable - It is MOST helpful to have the stationary side of the knot be the tail (or the cut end of your yarn) and the adjustable side to be the working yarn ( leads to the skein) side. - If it's NOT adjustable, that’s ok too! Just don't make it too tight. Go ahead and practice your slip knot, share your progress! Those that are pros, go ahead and share your tips in making your slip knot. If you need specific help, message me!

I make mine just like you do but I use a hook to pull it through instead of my fingers. 😇
A Little "Proud Momma" Brag Post! 🧶✨
As a crochet artist—and especially as a teacher in my local community —the question I get asked most is: "Do your kids crochet, too?" The short answer? Yes! But the "mom" answer? I let them find their own rhythm. While all my kiddos have mastered the basics (we’ve made a lot of chains in this house!), I’ve always had a rule: If they aren’t feeling the spark, I don’t push the hook. Creativity should feel like a playground, not a chore! But today, my "Crochet Momma" heart is absolutely bursting. My oldest first picked up a hook 16 years ago. What started as tiny, super-tightly woven granny squares has evolved into something truly breathtaking. From stunning wearables to intricate earrings and everything in between, seeing their growth and artistic eye develop has been such a gift. It’s a beautiful reminder that when we plant those seeds of creativity—and give them plenty of room to grow—they eventually bloom into something spectacular. 🌸 Tell me in the comments: Have you passed your craft down to your kids or grandkids? Or are you the "First Generation" maker in your family? 👇

Much like you I taught my daughter, no pushing, she dropped it, but last year asked me to show her again how to get started and we make the goggly eye worm together.
Week 1 Shop My Shelves Challenge
Yes, I'm late posting. We are all about pacing ourselves here and giving grace. 😉 Ultimately I chose to make a phone carrier. It was functional and cute. But I am still working on a design that suites my needs even more. This one could use a sturdier yarn and tighter stitch with a less bulky pocket. The keyring is great however, I dont often have on pants with a belt loop. Future design will need a belt of its own or strap. Let's see what you made!
