Word of the Week- Sleep (Primal Need #3)
Two years ago the word of the week was sleep. It’s one of the most important variables in your health. And for many, it’s the most neglected. Here’s the truth: Sleep is more important than exercise. Sleep is more important than nutrition for fat loss. Sleep is more important than willpower. Without sleep: - Blood sugar rises - Cravings increase - Cortisol stays elevated - Recovery slows - Hormones dysregulate - Fat loss stalls - Mood declines - Performance drops You cannot out-train poor sleep. You cannot out-supplement poor sleep. And I’ll be honest. This has always been one of my biggest struggles. I strive to grow. To produce. To build. To be effective. And mentally, sleep can feel like it gets in the way. But that belief is wrong. A Quick Story: Tuesdays with Morrie If you haven’t read it, Tuesdays with Morrie is about a former student reconnecting with his dying college professor, Morrie Schwartz. Morrie was slowly losing his body to ALS. He once said something like: “If you’re in bed, you’re dead.” What he meant was — don’t waste your life lying around. Engage. Live fully. I appreciate the spirit of that message. But applied to sleep? It’s terrible advice. For health, recovery, hormone balance, fat loss, longevity, and performance — sleep is not laziness. Sleep is repair. Sleep is when: - Growth hormone is released - Muscles recover - The brain detoxifies - Emotions regulate - The nervous system resets You don’t build strength in the gym. You build it in your sleep. In Today’s World Technology moves fast. The world moves fast. Stress is constant. If we want to adapt and age with strength — not decline faster — sleep is non-negotiable. We are all aging. But we can slow unnecessary decline. And it starts at night. 🛏 SLEEP Challenge Good: Set a consistent bedtime this week. Better: Wind down 30–60 minutes before bed (no screens, lower lights, breathe). Best: Treat sleep like an appointment you refuse to cancel.

Thanks for reminding me. So true. We all forget this too easily.
Word of the Week: Replenish
Last week was a lot for me. Super Bowl Sunday. Miles turned 16 on Wednesday. Baseball team event also on Wednesday. Two games Saturday. Valentine’s Day Saturday night. And — as usual — juggling two jobs, prioritizing daily morning workouts and prayer. Full calendar. Full house. Full life. And limited time and energy. I know I’m not unique. Your week probably looked different — but just as full. Deadlines. Family. Work. Expectations. Never-ending to-dos. Life doesn’t slow down. Which is exactly why this week’s word matters: REPLENISH To replenish means to fill up again. To restore what has been used. To return to strength. Most adults aren’t unmotivated. They’re depleted. Depleted from: • Constant output • Hormone shifts • Poor sleep • Blood sugar swings • Stress • Screens • Giving to everyone else first You cannot lead, love, perform, or build from an empty tank. Replenishment is not indulgence. It’s responsibility. For me, replenishing means: • Protecting sleep again • Water & electrolytes before caffeine • Protein consistently • Lifting and moving • Breathing before reacting • Quiet time with God Small resets. Because the goal isn’t perfection. It’s restoration. ⸻ REPLENISH Challenge Good: Pause once today and ask, “What do I need right now?” Better: Identify which of your 7 Daily Primal Needs feels most depleted — and start there. Best: Recommit to all 7 Daily Primal Needs this week — not perfectly, but intentionally. ⸻ ✨ 72-Hour Replenish Opportunity To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Miles turning 16, and this reminder that we all need to replenish… I’m opening a 72-hour opportunity for the next 12-week Metabolic Edge System. For the next 72 hours, you can join at 40% off. If you’ve been running on empty… If you’ve been saying “I’ll start later”… If you know you need structure, accountability, and restoration… This is your window. Message me REPLENISH and I’ll send you the details. You don’t need more willpower. You need replenishment.

Word of the Week: YET
YET is a small word with a powerful impact. It doesn’t deny reality. It doesn’t sugarcoat struggle. It simply leaves room for growth. When life feels hard, many of us speak in absolutes: - “I can’t do this.” - “This isn’t working.” - “I’ve tried everything.” - “I’m too old.” - “My body doesn’t respond anymore.” But watch what happens when you add one word: “I can’t do this… yet.” “This isn’t working… yet.” “I haven’t figured this out… yet.” That single word changes the entire conversation. Yet doesn’t promise instant results. It acknowledges that change takes time — especially in real life, in real bodies, in real seasons. In today’s world, where people feel stuck, overwhelmed, inflamed, tired, and discouraged, YET reminds us that progress is still possible — even if it’s slower, even if it looks different than it used to. A growth mindset isn’t about blind optimism. It's about staying open to the next step. YET creates space for: - Learning instead of quitting - Patience instead of frustration - Progress instead of perfection You may not be where you want to be —but you’re not done. YET Challenge (Good / Better / Best) Good:Pay attention to the words you use when you talk to yourself. Language shapes your emotional state and your future. Better:Today, add the word YET after negative thoughts or statements. Best:Practice adding YET all week — especially when you feel stuck, discouraged, or impatient. You don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need to stay open to what’s possible. *If you’re feeling stuck and telling yourself “this isn’t working” or “I’ve tried everything” — add one word: Yet. You don’t have to change everything overnight. You just need the right structure, support, and next step. My next Metabolic Edge System (MES) groups are starting again next Monday. This is for adults 50+ who want: - Better energy and digestion - Sustainable fat loss without extremes - Stronger habits and a calmer mindset - Real progress — even if it’s slower than it used to be

Like what you said.
Word of the Week: Reflect
Have you taken time to reflect on 2025? Not just what went wrong — but your wins, your victories, and everything you’re genuinely grateful for? Have you also looked honestly at: - The obstacles you faced - The challenges that stretched you - The habits or patterns that held you back Reflection matters. In an ideal world, I would do some form of reflection daily — and when I do, I’m at the top of my game. I’m clearer, calmer, more grounded, and more aligned with how I actually want to live. This isn’t a new-age idea. I first learned this practice back in 2010 while taking a course at the Mercy Center, centered around The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius — a practice that’s over 500 years old, used by the Jesuits to cultivate clarity, discernment, gratitude, and alignment. Reflection is time-proven. It helps us: - Cut through the noise - Stay focused on what matters - Learn from the past without living in it - Make better decisions moving forward It also connects directly to what we talked about last week — EASE. My central theme for 2026 is EASE, and reflection is one of the most powerful tools I know to create it. When we pause to reflect: - Life feels less reactive - Decisions feel lighter - We stop repeating the same mistakes - We move forward with more intention and less force Reflection helps us live with clarity instead of chaos. Reflection prompts (take 5 minutes): - What went right for me in 2025? - What am I most grateful for? - What challenged me — and what did it teach me? - What do I want to do differently moving forward? If you’d like help slowing down, reflecting, and turning this into a clear plan for 2026, I’m hosting a Virtual Goal-Setting Session this Wednesday @ 4:30 PM PST, where we’ll walk through this together step by step. Here is the zoom link: Zoom I’m also opening another round of my 14- & 21-Day Detox for those who want a simple, structured reset — physically and mentally — as we head into the new year. It’s not a long-term lifestyle, but it can be a powerful way to reset habits and regain momentum.
