One coin. One relay. One journey with NIM relay on Nimiq
Every crypto app treats the transaction like a chore. We treat it like the whole point. No wallet UI. No “transaction pending.” No spinner while you wait to feel something. Just a 10-second challenge, and then you move it forward. One coin. One relay. One journey that’s been passing hand to hand since turn 1, picking up players like a story picks up chapters. Here’s the part most games get backwards: the transfer isn’t the reward for finishing the game. The transfer is the finish. Passing it forward IS the win. We didn’t build a crypto app with a game bolted on. We built a game that happens to run on real Nimiq transactions. Nim Relay is cooking up

@Yasmine Romdhane Yeah, definitely. We’ve actually been thinking in that direction, but we want it to feel native to the game rather than just adding a generic POAP. The idea is for important relay moments to leave behind permanent artifacts on your profile, things like being the 100th handoff, saving a relay in Redline, crossing a new country, completing a world relay, or being part of a long-running baton. Your history should eventually feel like a collection of the journeys you actually helped create.
Introducing nimiq shop
Buy gift cards and phone top-ups with NIM. Steam, Amazon, Netflix, Google Play, PlayStation, Xbox, that kind of thing. Works in 190+ countries. Pay with Nimiq Pay — you confirm in your wallet, that's it. No KYC, no sign-up, we never hold your coins. You can send stuff as a gift too. Put in a friend's number or email, write a quick note, pay. They get the code or top-up with your message attached. That's also how we plan to grow it — friends buying gift cards for each other pulls new people in naturally. How it works: Nimiq Pay converts your NIM to BTC Lightning and pays the provider directly. Your NIM never reaches our wallet. The code or top-up lands in email/SMS, usually under a 5 seconds. Quick note: I reached out to bitrefill by email a week ago about their business API, they never got back to me, so I switched to a different provider. There's a cashback system built in — 1% NIM back by default on every order, paid directly in NIM to your wallet. We'll also drop promo codes over time that push that up to 5% NIM cashback — just enter the code at checkout and the extra NIM lands with the base reward. I dropped a few screenshots and the logo below — most of the site is already working. The main thing I'm waiting on is for Nimiq Pay to open up its native NIM → BTC Lightning payment flow to mini apps too — right now that's about the only real blocker. Honestly, if you use Nimiq Pay there isn't really another place to spend your NIM on stuff like this right now. Beyond that, we get better pricing that regular users can't — as a personal buyer you can't get the kind of discount rates providers give businesses, so we can pass that back as cashback and still price competitively.

1. Visit https://nimiq.space/advertise 2. Sign-in with a Nimiq Wallet, via desktop or Nimiq Pay (desktop recommended) 3. Fill out your app details & upload an image (recommended 1600x984 for best in-game clarity) 4. Leave your app name here in this thread once the above is completed. (I'll respond to confirm it's live, or if there is any issues with the advert) For those competing in the Mini Apps competition, I'll add a free top up of 1500NIM. So there is no need for you to fund anything towards your campaign. This is roughly 15 days of in-game display time for free! Choose an image that makes your application stand out, something that will make users want to click.

INTRODUCING NIM RELAY… A GAMEFI ON NIMIQ
Huge announcement We're introducing something substantial! We’re launching a game where a single Nimiq coin travels around the world, hand to hand, wallet to wallet, all recorded on-chain. Here’s how NIM Relay works 🧵 Most “Web3 games” fake the chain aspect, tacking on leaderboards, points, and tokens at the end. NIM Relay doesn’t do that. The game state and payment state are unified. Every pass is a genuine Nimiq transaction, not just a database entry pretending to be one. Here's the process: Receive the baton → complete a quick skill challenge → approve a single seamless handoff → pick or invite the next runner → see the map update. No repeated wallet pop-ups. No jargon. Just: your turn, your city, your pass. What really excites people: You can watch a single NIM cross borders in real time. For example, Africa takes the baton, then Berlin, then wherever the next runner is. “Can we keep this NIM alive for 24 hours?” is a real question the app asks. From day one, the design aim was clear: deliver a premium global game experience, not a DeFi dashboard. Inside the app, you will see: • Live relay map + current baton location • Recent handoffs, countries, total relay duration • Streaks, seasonal leaderboards, trophies • Longest relay, fastest passes, shareable milestones The core question: How far can one NIM travel? It’s not about "faking" transactions; it’s about how far a single real coin can truly go—person to person, country to country, chain to chain. That’s what we’re building with NIM RELAY—making sure everyone can put NIM into action while playing games. Keep the chain intact. NIM Relay is coming soon. Follow us to watch one NIM try to circle the world. https://x.com/nimrelay/status/2094333028977807471

@Yasmine Romdhane Yep, you got the core mechanic right. A single relay can end, but NIM Relay itself is meant to be persistent. We’re designing daily and community relays, different skill challenges, streaks, rankings, achievements and seasonal records, so every relay becomes part of a larger game loop rather than a one-off campaign. The fun part is that each new relay can have its own goal too, like reaching the most countries, surviving 24 hours, hitting 100 wallets, or competing between communities. So finishing one relay should create the reason to come back for the next one.
