Even If You've Never Posted, Drop One Word Below
I know a lot of you read but don't post, and that's totally fine. But I want to hear from you too. No pressure, no paragraphs, nothing fancy. Just drop one word that describes your training right now. Sore. Motivated. Tired. Hooked. Rebuilding. Whatever it is. One word. That's it. I'll go first: Recovering.

What I've noticed about master athletes...
The athletes improving the fastest aren't always the most talented. They're the ones collecting information. A bad tournament gives them information. A great training session gives them information. A terrible night's sleep gives them information. An injury, setback, or plateau gives them information. The problem is most people only like information when it confirms what they already believe. What's one piece of feedback, data, or experience you've gotten recently that you didn't want to hear... but probably needed to hear?

Getting outclassed in under 2 min at my first tournament at brown at Pans because my opponent pulled faster and I had a terrible top game. Basically, my top game was exposed. I spent the next year + working on it. Most of it through nogi which I then adapted for my gi top game. It’s been a game changer. Top game improving and I have confidence on my feet. All from the information I received at that tournament

What's One Adjustment You've Made In The Last 5 Years?
What's one adjustment you've made in the last 5 years that has made training more sustainable?

Doing more Nogi. It’s changed my gi game a lot, it’s improved my passing and top position as well as made able to handle a higher pace and get better at scrambles. Opened up my traditionally guard heavy game.

@Vincent Chan right on. Although my sleeve grips have reached peak level and I use it like crazy 😜
What Part of Your Game Is Getting the Most Attention Right Now?
If I watched your training this week, what position or skill would I see you working on the most? Why that area?

Passing. Outside passing for entries then a modified body lock pass I’ve been working on that has been highly successful
What transition changed your game the most?
One thing I've realized over the years is that good guard players don't just know positions. They know how to move between positions. What's one transition that made a big difference in your game? Could be: - Collar & Sleeve → DLR - DLR → X Guard - Half Guard → Dogfight - Butterfly → Single Leg X Or anything else.

Collar & Sleeve → DLR —> double sleeve double feet on the hip and back again. Huge change. The double sleeve/double hip opens up so much
