Hi! My name is Aźia (pronounced Asia). I am the Head Cheerleading Coach at Denison University located in Granville, Ohio. I also coach competitive All-Star cheer at a local gym in Pataskala, Ohio. My biggest challenge right now is rebuilding the Denison cheer program while establishing a strong culture and a sustainable development system for our athletes. Part of that challenge is implementing more structured strength and conditioning into our program so our athletes can perform at a higher level, stay healthy, and build the power and stability required for advanced stunting and tumbling. Balancing that development while recruiting and building the program’s identity is a major focus. I’m excited to learn more about how to effectively integrate strength and conditioning into a collegiate cheer program. Specifically, I’m interested in learning training methods that improve power, injury prevention, and stunt stability, along with ways to build year-round development plans that support both performance and athlete longevity.
