In-Person Event #2 Recording and Photos
Thank you to everyone who attended our 2nd in-person event yesterday! Photo Gallery of the Day Most contractors don't know their exact profit margin. This workshop shows you how to change that with a simple AI finance setup that tracks every dollar across your company and your projects. 🧠 What you'll learn: -How to set up two Claude projects that act as your full-time CFO — one for your company (overhead, cash flow, bank statements) and one for each active job (budget, draw schedule, labor hours, change orders) -A receipt-capture workflow that replaces hours of manual line-item sorting: snap a photo of up to six receipts, upload to Claude, and get every expense categorized and allocated to the right job instantly -How to calculate your real monthly overhead in minutes by uploading your bank and credit card statements and prompting Claude to flag every recurring charge — including subscriptions you forgot you were paying for -A progress billing method that makes it nearly impossible for a GC or client to dispute your invoice: feed Claude your scope, budget, and timestamped site photos and it generates a branded completion report with percentage breakdowns and photo proof attached -How to turn off AI training on your financial data in Claude's privacy settings (and why enterprise accounts have it off by default), so you can upload bank statements and credit card data without it being used to train the model Resources mentioned in this video: - Claude Projects: claude.ai - Claude Cowork (desktop app): claude.ai/download - Google NotebookLM (for learning): notebooklm.google.com - Perplexity AI (for research): perplexity.ai - Claude connectors: accessible via the + button in any Claude chat

TOMORROW! AI For Contractors In Person Event Round 2
This one's focused on finance. Bring a workflow you're actually using: quoting, estimating, job costing, tracking receivables, whatever's taking too long. We'll work through it together and figure out where AI fits. Join us at 4470 North Service Rd E Unit #107 at Noon. The jobsite is far enough along now where we no longer need hard hats or steel toes. Reminder there won't be a call tomorrow at 7pm. Looking forward to seeing you in person instead!

Hi @Nicole Ciarrocchi , great question, we've received this feedback from attendees and have updated tomorrow's format to be inclusive of beginners. It'll be focused on how to use Claude to help with managing construction finances. As a beginner, it will be well-suited for you and have the Scelta team by your side to help during the work session.Hopefully see you there!
AI WIN #9: TINTS AND TONES
Meet Jesse. He owns Tints & Tones, a commercial and residential painting company serving Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent. Before AI, he was spending an hour and a half on-site after every walkthrough — measuring, calculating, writing it all up in the truck, then presenting the proposal to the client. He wanted to get that down to 30 minutes. He's already there. Jesse built out an estimating workflow using Claude Cowork, Granola, and NotebookLM that takes everything captured during the site visit and turns it into a polished, client-ready proposal. Faster than his competitors can finish their measurements. Clients regularly can't believe it. "You're telling me you typed all this out in 30 minutes?" That disbelief is a competitive advantage. But the bigger shift isn't just speed. It's capacity. Jesse started by asking one question: what 20-minute tasks can we automate? Do that across an entire business, and suddenly you have 20 extra hours a week that used to disappear into the necessary-but-not-valuable work every owner gets buried in. He describes his business before: daunting. Now? Systematic. "I don't even feel like we're the same company in such a short period of time." Tools: Claude Cowork https://claude.ai/ Granola https://www.granola.ai/ NotebookLM https://www.notebooklm.google/ Try this: 1. Write down every task in your week that takes 15-30 minutes and feels repetitive 2. Pick one and ask Claude: "How could I automate or speed up this process?" 3. Record your next client walkthrough with Granola and feed the transcript into Claude to draft your proposal 4. Measure the time difference — then find the next task to eliminate What's the most daunting task in your week right now? Drop it in the comments — someone in this community has probably already figured out how to automate it.

TONIGHT: Render the Sale — AI Visuals & Nano Banana for Contractors
Tonight we're going deep on one of the most underused tools in the contractor sales process. AI-generated visuals. We're covering AI Studio and Nano Banana, how to take a photo a client sends you and turn it into a photorealistic render of the finished project, and the exact prompting techniques that make the difference between a generic image and something that looks like it came from a professional renderer. You'll walk away with: - A sample prompt template you can use on your next quote - The 8 techniques for accurate, consistent, high-quality renders - A live demo of the full workflow — site visit transcript → visual → branded proposal - Two new Cowork skills that automate the heavy lifting This is a demo call. Bring a photo of a current job if you want to get pulled into the hot seat.

The Claude Skill That Taught Me Stronger Sales Follow Ups
With all this AI writing in the world now, I started to really feel the emptiness when you just know a message was written by AI. And I don't mean assessed and augmented by AI. I mean totally written from scratch. I think there's great value in having AI assess what you write, but what do you vet your writing against to actually make it stronger? I read a book sometime ago called "How to Win Friends and Influence People," which is the best communication book I've ever read, and so I thought that might be a good source to create a Claude Skill from. It was super easy to set up. I just asked Claude to research the book online and build its principles into a skill that vets my writing. Then something unexpected happened after a bit. I started to use it less and less because every time I had Claude vet my writing against it, I started to learn where I was making mistakes, where I was putting myself first, where I was missing touching upon the other person's eager want. After enough reps, the principles started to show up themselves in my follow-ups, and I could feel the warmth from people in their responses. If you want to try it: open a new chat with Claude, ask it to research How to Win Friends and Influence People and build a skill that vets your writing before you send it out. Bonus - There's an updated version called "How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age" you should definitely check out too!
