The person who wins is not always the smartest one in the room
It's the one who can adapt the fastest. In NLP we talk about something called behavioral flexibility. The idea is simple: the person with the most options for how to respond in any situation is the one who has the most influence over the outcome. Most of us were never taught this. We learned one way to handle conflict, one way to respond to stress, one way to show up when things get hard. And we just keep running that same response on repeat wondering why we keep getting the same results. But what if you had more options? What if instead of reacting the way you always have, you could pause, assess, and choose a response that actually serves you? That's a learned skill. And it's one of the things I teach inside the NLP Practitioner Certification. For now though, here's your practice this week: The next time you feel yourself about to respond on autopilot, just pause for three seconds. That pause is the beginning of flexibility.
