O M G!!!
My first visible cocoon! Found it on top of the composting bin! I just got them in last Thursday! I thought that was exciting - then I found 3 wisps in the nursery!!! Finally got the seedling heating pad put under the nursery as well. We'll see if 83⁰ helps get them excited to hatch! EDIT!!! I remembered the temperature goal wrong. It's been reset to 74⁰. Don't worry, I'm not going to saute the wisps! ;)

@Rick Redding I split 250 worms between two 3.5 gallon buckets to do a continuous system for castings.

Well, stackable like this one. And you add a new one on top and they migrate upwards.
Just me?
Anyone else generally have a pretty “weak” stomach but now have no problem watching worms during lunch? 😂
Welcome to Living Soil with Cherene!
I created this community to make worm composting, living soil, and healthier plant systems feel less overwhelming and more organized! Check out the classroom tab for a self paced learning system and utilize this community for learning and connecting! Instead of digging through endless comments and videos, I wanted one place where people could: -learn step by step -ask questions -connect with others -grow healthier plants from the soil up Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments! Tell us: - where you’re from - what worms you have (or want) - whether you’re brand new or experienced - what you’re hoping to learn I’ll keep building this space over time with videos, resources, discussions, and live support. If you’re new to worm composting or living soil, welcome! You’re in the right place! :)

Thank you so much for creating this! I didn’t even know this app existed. I’ve been watching worm videos for a while, yours being one of the firsts, and decided since I was still interested about 6 months later that I had to jump in. My father was very sick the last couple of years and passed in January. This has been exactly what I needed to process everything. It’s also helped me feel more connected with my maternal grandmother, who loved composting and repurposing. I’ve had my worms for only 10 days and I’m already learning and gaining so much. 💜
