You know how when you're young, the older wiser people tell you how important it is to take great care who you marry. I promise I did and he turned out to be a toad masquerading as a prince. 🤣😁 So what do these new adventures and shenanigans look like.... I have no idea. I'm currently working through that. I thought I had it "all figured out" after the past year and wellllll.... maybe not. Who have I been.... teacher, prison ministry recovery leader, choir member, over giving church member, traffic engineer for a now non-existent cell phone service provider (RIP Sprint PCS), a nanny, a JCPenney catalog operator and a University of Phoenix Online academic counselor. Favorite place to live... Phoenix Favorite place to be myself... beach on the the ocean Favorite food... Tex Mex Favorite travel destination... New Zealand Currently living tiny in a 40 foot long (maybe) tiny home in a community. Fun fact about me... I've traveled places by myself and moved myself cross country without knowing a soul in the new location multiple times. You could save I thrive on adventure. :D I'm the only person in my family living outside of the 75 mile radius of the rest of them. Just call me Moana! Country roots and city wings.

Ashley is actually the reason I’m here, so when she told me about Lisa and this community, I thought I definitely needed to come check it out. I’ve heard little bits and pieces from Ashley about some of the conversations Lisa has been part of, and I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone here. A little about me… I’m married to Kevin, we have two grown kids and a grandson who calls me Grammie, and we live in the North Georgia mountains. I spent a lot of years as an elementary school teacher and then almost 18 years running childcare from my home, so helping people learn, grow, figure things out and finally have that little “ohhhh, now I get it” moment has probably been woven through most of my life in one way or another. The online business part of my story came later. And like a lot of women, I spent quite a few years learning, taking courses, trying different things, promoting other people’s products and wondering exactly what all of those pieces were eventually going to become. Ashley and I met somewhere in the middle of all of that, and over time we realized we both wanted to stop only helping build things that belonged to somebody else and start creating something of our own from what we had actually lived and learned. That eventually became The Build Lab, which we created as a place for women to bring the idea they’ve been carrying around — even if it’s still really messy — and actually start doing something with it. A lot of what I personally love is helping a woman recognize that the thing she knows, the experience she’s had, or even the season she fought her way through may have a whole lot more value than she realizes. And I think that’s probably one of the reasons I’m excited to be in this community too. I’m still building. Still learning. Still figuring out what God is doing with some of the pieces of my own story. I really enjoy being around women who are willing to talk about the real parts of business and life while we’re figuring it out rather than pretending we already have everything tied up with a bow.

I’m so excited to be here! I’m Ashley — wife, fur mom to two dogs and one very spoiled cat 😂, and someone who would pretty much always rather be planning the next adventure. My husband and I love to travel, and we have our sights set on becoming full-time travelers in the next 6–9 months. Sell the house, hit the road, and see where God takes us. ❤️ I’m also one half of The Build Lab, which I created with my business partner and friend, @Judy Gudmestad — who’s in here too, so I’ll tag her! 👋 We met through the online business world after both spending a lot of time learning, taking courses, and promoting other people’s products. Eventually, we realized we wanted to take everything we’d learned and build something of our own. That’s where The Build Lab came from. It’s a community for women in the online business world who are ready to bring their ideas to the table, figure out what they want to create, get real feedback and support, and actually build the thing. Even if they’re starting with “I have no freaking clue what I want to build.” 😂 Our favorite phrase is “Look what God helped me build.” And that really sums up what we hope women eventually get to say about whatever they create.
