Wow love the energy in here! 🔥
Hi 👋 everyone! I'm David. Very thankful to be here! Lisa and I have "known" each other for a while through Skool. I had taken some time off Skool but recently returned and then stumbled head on into this new project 😁 I'm a family man from Sweden with 3 kiddos. I spent the last 20 years living in Australia. Just last year my wife and I moved back to Sweden. My life exploded 7 years ago when I found Jesus! I love the intersection of God's calling and business, which is why I started Training for Reigning. I firmly believe we're all created for something specific, according to Ephesians 2:10, and that this calling can be combined with business so we can live free from the world's system. A fun fact is that I really don't like coffee. I'm the weird one that always asks for tea instead. I believe that makes me part of the top 1% 😂

@Ashley Welch hahaha!! I like coffee, but only ever take one sip of my hubby's cup after I make it for him - he NEEDS his coffee and that was actually one of the things that helped me decide to never get "addicted" to coffee! Too many teenage friends who couldn't survive without their morning coffee including my hubby who would get huge headaches if he waited too long to drink his first cup - at least that's better now :) 🤪

Welcome @David Blumberg! So happy you're back on Skool, have opened your community and think the name is pretty fabulous!! And I especially love that you've lived in both Australia AND that you are now in Sweden - both of those places are on my want to visit list!! Although Australia kinda scares me and I might opt for New Zealand instead to avoid the collection of critters that Australia boasts of having 😂 I love tea over coffee too... but still actually like coffee, just intentionally choose not to choose it very much!
Hi everyone! I’m Judy 👋💗
Ashley is actually the reason I’m here, so when she told me about Lisa and this community, I thought I definitely needed to come check it out. I’ve heard little bits and pieces from Ashley about some of the conversations Lisa has been part of, and I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone here. A little about me… I’m married to Kevin, we have two grown kids and a grandson who calls me Grammie, and we live in the North Georgia mountains. I spent a lot of years as an elementary school teacher and then almost 18 years running childcare from my home, so helping people learn, grow, figure things out and finally have that little “ohhhh, now I get it” moment has probably been woven through most of my life in one way or another. The online business part of my story came later. And like a lot of women, I spent quite a few years learning, taking courses, trying different things, promoting other people’s products and wondering exactly what all of those pieces were eventually going to become. Ashley and I met somewhere in the middle of all of that, and over time we realized we both wanted to stop only helping build things that belonged to somebody else and start creating something of our own from what we had actually lived and learned. That eventually became The Build Lab, which we created as a place for women to bring the idea they’ve been carrying around — even if it’s still really messy — and actually start doing something with it. A lot of what I personally love is helping a woman recognize that the thing she knows, the experience she’s had, or even the season she fought her way through may have a whole lot more value than she realizes. And I think that’s probably one of the reasons I’m excited to be in this community too. I’m still building. Still learning. Still figuring out what God is doing with some of the pieces of my own story. I really enjoy being around women who are willing to talk about the real parts of business and life while we’re figuring it out rather than pretending we already have everything tied up with a bow.

AH, I though I had replied to you!! Welcome!! So glad you accepted @Ashley Welch's invitation to jump in here and love that your grandbaby calls you Grammie - that's a lovely Gramma (that's what my mom wanted to be called - "NO nd!!" 🤣 Thank you so much for sharing your journey and I'm looking forward to getting to know you better here and in The Build Lab!
Thanks for the welcome!
I’m Joyce, born in Guatemala to missionary parents. I was raised an MK, then married a man who also has the call of God on his life for missions work. We are career missionaries (40+ yrs) and even though we are retirement age we are not ready to quit. So we live and do missions work part of the year in Guatemala & Central America, as well as France & Spain. We have 4 children (all raised as MK’s too) and now they’re grown, married, with kids of their own — our beautiful 9 grands, the delight of my life. So part of the year we live at our cabin in the North Georgia mountains and spend our days traveling to visit our family as well as deputation missions fundraising, speaking at churches, etc. I don’t have a community or business… yet. I am still praying, studying, learning and hoping for connections and suggestions. Looking forward to getting to know you all better in the community.

Hi everyone! I’m Donna. ❤️
I’m a retired educator who somehow found her way into entrepreneurship and community building. 😂 I’ve learned that I really love bringing people together, asking good questions, and figuring out how we create spaces where people genuinely know and support one another. @Lisa Vanderveen Lisa's vision for this community caught my attention because I love the idea of having a place where faith and business don’t have to live in separate boxes. I’m still building, learning, questioning, and figuring things out too, and I’m looking forward to being able to have some of those conversations here with people who understand both. Outside of business, I’m a Kentucky girl, married to my childhood friend, and pretty happy anytime life gives me a reason to slow down, laugh, and enjoy the people around me. ❤️ Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

@Joyce Tyson oh I hear you on eating healthier - I wish I had the energy to make everything I could from scratch..with 5 kids, I tried, but became completely overwhelmed with a million projects on the go at once - that definitely had to do with my management "style" at the time too though, so there is that 🤪 For sure homeschooling is an investment and not for the faint of heart, but I can't help but say that part of that is expectations :) We have certain expectations of what "school" should look like and "school" at home certainly was not what I expected - but I put us in the system of BC with an overseeing teacher for several years at a time off an on throughout our journey which had us with one foot in the system and one out. My last two have had overseeing teachers for the last few years, but that was never my intention - if I had had the energy and capacity, I would have loved to say I homeschooled all 5 from beginning to end but I needed to prioritize my healing journey to get to where I am now 🥰 And I actually think it's been the best possible choice for these two kids in particular :) Especially after covid. They needed more than I could give them when all of our social networks disappeared.

Hey, Hey, Hey!!!
Wanted to pop onto video and say hi - I had a welcome video that was much more energetic yesterday, but the video and audio were corrupted and I ended up deleting it 😢 So this is a welcome/thank you/here's something newbies will want to understand/encouragement to connect and help each other level up/I'm so tired kinda post - with a little bit of "WHERE did the screen I'm sharing go and why can't I see what is actually on the screen???" thrown in! For those of you who don't know yet, I'm in a battle with insomnia and anemia and right now "tired" is winning BUT I had a fabulous off-line, productive day in many things (some gardening, a walk, moving some plants around, "running lines" with my son who's auditioning for a big role in his musical theatre production next week - and focusing on upping his singing skills to feel confident singing multiple main songs)... I think I might have done more but my brain feels tired and I talk about the rhythm of rest we get to embrace but often don't as Kingdom business owners. Ultimately this is a bit of a mish-mash recording but there is GOOD stuff in there!! I talk slow, so turn the speed to 1.5 and let me know in the comments if you learned something new or have something to add that would be helpful for the brand new to Skool members in our midst 🤩
