Mindful Monday ~ Comparing
When You Compare Your Healing to Others It’s easy to look around and wonder why someone else seems to be making progress faster. Maybe they changed their diet and feel better in two weeks. Maybe they started exercising and suddenly have more energy. Maybe they seem to be doing less than you and getting better results. And if you're struggling, it's natural to ask: "What am I doing wrong?" - Reframe through the body The truth is that healing is not a race. Bodies do not follow timelines. Bodies follow capacity. Every person arrives at their healing journey with a different history, different stress load, different nutrient reserves, different life circumstances, and a different nervous system state. A body that has been in survival mode for years may need to spend time creating safety before it can focus on repair. Healing is about what your body (and mind) is ready to receive. - Normalize the experience Your pace is not a reflection of your effort, your worth, or your commitment. It reflects your history. The body that has carried chronic stress, inflammation, poor sleep, trauma, illness, caregiving responsibilities, or years of overwork often needs more time. That means your body is doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect you first and heal when conditions allow. - One gentle orientation This week, stop measuring your progress against someone else's timeline. Instead, ask: "What is my body ready for today?" Maybe it's a walk. Maybe it's drinking more water. Maybe it's going to bed 30 minutes earlier. Maybe it's simply resting without guilt. Healing becomes much easier when we stop forcing the body to match someone else's pace and start listening to our own. Let your body work from where it is. What is one small sign of progress you've noticed recently? Post your answer below!

1. Hi, my name is Ashley. I have lived in Huntsville most of my life. I am here to both refresh my memory and learn everything I possibly can. My primary health goal is to heal so that I can live a long, healthy life with my family, and so that I can continue to help others learn to heal. 2. I think community connection is incredibly important in a holistic health journey. There's so much information out there, so many naysayers, it's easy to get discouraged. Additionally, accountability is so helpful. And sharing experiences may help others to not feel so alone. 3. I would love to start boxing again. 4. I will have to get a photo!

What would it take?
We have over 70 people in this community… …but only a small handful are actively working through the classes, posting, asking questions, and participating in discussions. And honestly — that makes me curious. What would it take for more people to get involved? Not in a pressured way. Not in a “do more” way. But in a genuine way. Because healing rarely happens in isolation. The people who tend to experience the biggest shifts are usually not the people doing things perfectly…They are the people who stay engaged. They listen. They reflect. They ask questions. They let themselves be seen. They practice small things consistently. This space was never meant to be another information dump. It was designed to be a living environment for nervous system healing, awareness, support, education, and momentum. So I’d love to hear from you: • What would help you participate more? • What feels difficult about engaging? • What would make this community feel more supportive or useful to you? • What topics or conversations would help you stay connected to the process? Even a simple comment matters. Sometimes the nervous system stays quiet because it’s overwhelmed. Sometimes because it’s uncertain. Sometimes because it’s waiting to feel safe enough to engage. No judgment. Just curiosity. So let me ask again: What would it take? 👇 I’d genuinely love to hear from you.
