AUTO-DOWNS ♡
My girl is a couple months out of her 3 week board & train and Im just going to throw it out there - she is doing unreal!! ♡ Today we were walking, WITHOUT her training collar, & we were approaching another large dog. I walked Sawyer to the grass, where she auto-downed on HER OWN, but was still alert while we watched & waited. The lady with the other dog told me to go by from the distance, which you can see in my video, & I said no she could walk by. Sawyer was in a down & totally chill &, as you can see, she had no control over her own dog in what I felt was a very safe & comfortable situation. I didnt record as the lady walked by BUT Sawyer did sit up so I redirected her to a down, & we watched as the lady got closer while losing control. She did however muster some double armed strength to pull onto the street going off the curb and further away from us. Good lord. She also did yell towards me to let me know her dog was agressive. (Uhm ya no shit lady) ..... meanwhile my 6 month old XL Bulldog was laying on the grass chillin cuz it was no biggie. So, if you made it this far - I am THRILLED with my girls performance & for her to still be a baby. I also give full credit to the Arsenal Team for giving Sawyer & I an amazing core foundation to lean on!! It has been the best education & investment Ive ever made!! Situations like this could get ugly super fast. Lucky for me, Sawyer does feed off my energy & if I don't react she wont react .... usually. She knew she was safe & she was listening to me quing her to stay down. Once the other group had passed I gave her HUGE praise with a 'FREE,' & big love energy, plus tons of hugs & play time for being such a good girl on our walkies!! ♡♡

Interesting Morning Walk
Ozzy and I went for our morning walk this morning in our new neighborhood (we moved three days ago). There is a highly reactive dog in a yard with a chain link fence between the dog and the walking path on our walking route. This morning was the third time Ozzy has had to walk by this dog who absolutely loses it when a dog walks by his fence. The first time Ozzy encountered this dog the other day, Ozzy reacted very strongly pulling and barking - but wouldn’t you if you were an 11 month old working breed smart dog full of teenage hormones who was being treated like that, lol? This morning, on the first pass by the reactive dog, Ozzy barked and pulled a little when the dog freaked out, but stayed beside me as I continued to walk confidently, looking straight ahead and stimming and singing “I Can See Clearly Now” in my head (Thank you Jessica!). On the second pass of the reactive dog on the way home, I did the same thing and Ozzy walked beside me, looking at the dog, but he didn’t bark or pull. I gave him massive praise and treats once we were past the dog. It was then that I realized that Ozzy’s ecollar was turned OFF! We had done the entire hour long morning walk with no ecollar! Ozzy behaved amazingly the entire walk and was extremely obedient with no stimming at all. AMAZING. Of course the collar will stay on for years likely, but what a happy accident. Another interesting note: when I take the collar off before bed, Ozzy will outright ignore commands like “drop”, which he follows very well with the collar on. He is just way too smart and my socks are not safe without the ecollar, lol.

Dropped my puppy off today 😭
Hi everyone, Jonathan here 👋 I dropped Koba off this morning for the 3-week Boarding Rover program and I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t emotional for me 😭😭😭😭. Koba is a loving, energetic Bully XL, but we’ve been struggling with over-arousal, impulse control, and reactive/playful biting behaviors that have started becoming difficult to manage, especially during walks and moments of excitement at home. He’s not an aggressive dog, but he’s a strong, powerful one, and I realized we needed help and more structure before these behaviors became more ingrained. I’m committed to putting the work in on my end as well and I’m looking forward to learning from the trainers and community here. Would love to hear from others who have gone through similar experiences with their dogs and how things progressed after training. I already miss my little pupperino, but I’m looking forward to seeing him grow and welcoming him back home soon ❤️
