How do you actually get your leads?
Honest question for the group across all sectors — residential, commercial, industrial: How do you actually get your leads- p.s. yes this was written with the help of AI! I run a high-end residential Carpentry and aspiring GC outfit based out of North Vancouver (BC), and almost everything for us comes through referrals — past clients, GC’s, realtors, architects, the occasional sub who passes a name along. It works, but it’s unpredictable. Some weeks the phone won’t stop, then it goes quiet and there’s not much I can do to turn it back on. Curious what’s actually working for people. Not sure if there’s a voting function but, at least tell me the story behind it in the comments and we can dive deeper! What’s your #1 lead source? • Word of mouth / referrals • Repeat & commercial clients • Online (website, content, social) • Paid ads (Google, Meta) • Referral partnerships with trades/contractors • Other What I really want to know is whether your pipeline is steady or feast-or-famine like mine. If someone’s figured out the steady part, tell me how you did it. Cheers!

@Yogev Lifchin We've done a few google ad campaigns but stopped any paid ad spending about two years ago, when it seemed like after some time almost all of our leads were still coming from our website organically and/or from word of mouth. We were spending between $500 to $1500 a month for google ads, plus some social media advertising as well, and it didn't seem worth it after a while. I'm actually not familiar with LSA feature.

@Ryan Hart I personally have not, I know that our old estimator owner to be on Dodge, I believe he mentioned it used to be very competitive but I would like to check it out for myself. Especially if it can introduce us to good local subs that specialize in healthcare projects- currently I'm using Procore Network for that.
What do you want to get out of the community? (And Welcome)
Hey Everybody A knew month so I thought I’d start a new welcome thread. Please comment and introduce yourself. Let me know what you are trying to achieve and if you have any questions about the resources. If you click on the “Classroom” tab you’ll get access to all the resources. My goal in June is to keep growing my consulting business and focus on re-building my construction project management course. The original is around 9 hours, but the new one I want to be around 30 hours and cover a few more important topics like software, AI and personal skills. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi everyone, my company is a General Contractor in the US based out of Washington DC, and we primarily do design-build of interior fit outs of healthcare spaces. We currently have about 20 employees, and my main goal right now is to update all of our SOPs and refine our processes to have more consistent workflows, utilize AI, and have an easy-to-navigate knowledge base available for both my current and new hires to use as a resource to do their job more efficiently. I recently discovered Tim's Youtube channel and this community, and it's already convinced me to move our company knowledgeable into Notion, which has been great for our team so far!
