Let’s cut the fluff. Confidence doesn’t come from closing deals. It doesn’t come from watches, women, money, or cars. It comes from this: Doing what you said you were going to do—especially when it sucks. You ever look in the mirror and say: ā€œDamn… I’m acting like a loser. I’m drinking on weekdays. I’m avoiding the hard things. I say I want to get better… but I’m not proving it.ā€ So you make a commitment: ā€œI’m hitting the gym for 30 days straight.ā€ Day 1? You go. Day 5? You’re fired up. They go straight into this: ā€œWell, I work with ABC Realtyā€¦ā€ā€œWe’re one of the top brokerages in the countryā€¦ā€ā€œI have this strategy that will help you sell for moreā€¦ā€ 🚨 STOP!! That’s the worst thing you can do. Here’s what to say instead: ā€œJohn, from what you’re telling me, it sounds like you’re pretty open minded. You clearly want to put yourself in the best position to make the most money. I’d love to break down exactly how I’d help with that…But I know you’re not going to decide who you’ll work with over the phone. Let’s set up a quick 15-20 minute meeting.
