2008 Marked Me. 2026 Empowered Me.
I’ve been connecting with my community in a meaningful, intentional way since 2008. That year marked me. My heart for local small businesses wasn’t shaped by theory or trend. It was shaped by experience. By loss. I wasn’t just supporting local business back then. I was a local business. And when the economics of that time forced me to close my doors, the impact rippled far beyond my own life. Families were affected. Lives were disrupted. Connections were shaken. I still feel that pain today. What stayed with me most wasn’t only the financial loss. It was the loneliness. The quiet weight of responsibility. The isolation that comes when you’re trying to be strong while making impossible decisions. It wasn’t until I reached out to two good friends, both business owners, that things began to shift. They didn’t rescue me. They didn’t tell me what to do. They listened. They understood. And that connection gave me just enough clarity to make hard decisions that helped me move forward. Out of that season, something lasting was born. I committed myself to staying connected to my community, especially through social platforms, not to promote, not to posture, but to bring inspiration, encouragement, and hope. To remind people, especially those carrying heavy loads, that you are not alone. That commitment eventually led me to partner with one of those friends to help save their business. I’m deeply proud to say that business didn’t just survive. It thrived. And today, it has been passed on to someone who will carry it into the future. That matters to me more than words can fully express. Now, at 64 years old, I’m acutely aware that I have fewer years in front of me than behind me. That awareness doesn’t bring fear. It brings focus. And that focus is why this year, 2026, feels different. Not louder. Not bigger. Just clearer. Two thousand eight marked me. Twenty twenty-six empowered me. Empowered me to slow down. Empowered me to choose presence over noise. Empowered me to walk with my community, not ahead of it, not behind it. Just walking. Side by side.

In 2019, I had to close my business due to financial and health-related obstacles that had to be dealt with. For years, I was stuck in a constant cycle of obsessing over what I could have or should have done differently. I have finally accepted that I cannot change what happened. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would. The relationships created during that time created treasured memories, and I know we did help hundreds of people while we were open. There were lessons learned, especially about prioritizing my own health, managing my time better to spend quality time with my daughters, and not allowing negative self talk to sabotage progress. One of the fondest memories of that time was when you came to our business to do self defense demos and learn about our business. I will always be grateful for the positivity, encouragement and genuine connection your visits provided. You are one of a kind!
Welcome to the Living Strong Community, Ms. Sallie!
@Sallie Williams, It truly means a lot to have you here, my friend. Your bio says so much about who you are at heart. A preschool teacher, plant enthusiast, dog lover, Mom-mom, and a friend who believes in kindness and peace making a better world. That way of living speaks quietly, but powerfully. You shared that your reason for joining this community is simple and honest. To be empowered. I love that. Wanting to be empowered is not about becoming someone else. It’s about reconnecting with what’s already inside you and giving yourself permission to stand strong in it. This community is built for exactly that. Encouragement. Reflection. Growth. And walking together with kindness and intention. When you get a moment, drop a quick comment and say, “I’m here and ready to Live Strong.” To the Tribe, let’s give Ms. Sallie a warm Welcome and Glad you’re here! Honored to have you with us, Sallie. One Tribe. One Mission. Living Strong.

Welcome to the Living Strong Community, Marc!
This one brings a big smile. @Marc Rosenblatt of Marc Alan DJ Entertainment is a good friend, an incredible DJ, and someone who truly understands the power of music to bring people together. When asked why he joined this community, his answer was simple and perfect:Love community. That says everything about who Marc is. Music, connection, energy, joy — he lives it. If you’ve ever been at an event where Marc was behind the turntables, you know exactly what I mean. He doesn’t just play music… he reads the room, lifts the vibe, and turns moments into memories. I’m sharing a video I did live and unscripted at a party where Marc was the DJ. No script. No polish. Just real energy in the moment — and Marc doing what he does best. He truly is the best. Marc, I’m grateful for you and honored to have you here. This community is better with your energy and heart in it. And Tribe — Marc loves music, so let’s have some fun.Drop a comment and tell him:What’s your favorite song to dance to? To Marc — welcome, my friend. One Tribe. One Mission. Living Strong.

Welcome to the Living Strong Community, Kathryn “Katie” Hoopmann!
@Kathryn Hoopmann, it truly means a lot to have you here, my friend. Knowing you and the heart you bring into everything you do, I love your reason for joining: to learn and grow. That intention says so much about who you are. Learning and growth aren’t about rushing or proving anything. They’re about staying curious, open, and willing to evolve. That spirit fits beautifully in this community, and I’m grateful you chose to step into this space with us. Katie, I’m honored you’re here. I’m looking forward to the conversations, reflections, and moments of growth we’ll share along the way. When you get a moment, drop a quick comment and say, “I’m here and ready to Live Strong.” To the Tribe, let’s give Katie a warm Welcome and Glad you’re here! One Tribe. One Mission. Living Strong.

Living Strong Community — December 31st
Good morning, my living strong friends. Today is Wednesday, December 31st, 2025.The last page of this year. A powerful moment… if we let it be. Before anything else, I want to pause and say welcome — a heartfelt Living Strong welcome — to the new members who’ve joined us over the last couple of days. I’m grateful you’re here. Truly. This community grows one real connection at a time, and your presence matters. Over these past few days, I’ve had some beautiful conversations with people about how they like to bring in the New Year. Some love it loud — music, laughter, noise, celebration. Some love it quiet — reflection, stillness, prayer, early nights, soft moments. Neither is right or wrong. Both are honest. Both can be Living Strong. So let me ask you, right here, right now: How do you like to bring in the New Year — loud or quiet? And what will you be doing tonight or tomorrow to welcome 2026 in your way? No pressure. No expectations. Just a moment to share… and to welcome one another. I’m glad you’re here. Let’s step forward — together — Living Strong.

Spending time with family and friends tonight -not too loud, not too quiet. It is the first NYE in a while that I feel more hopeful that the coming year will be full of personal growth and progress. So, for the first time in years, I am looking forward to what the new year brings. Have a happy New Year!
