Hello
Hey everyone. I joined a couple of weeks ago, but haven’t introduced myself. I’ve been hit with 2 silly injuries, one of which is still a slight niggle but getting there. I lost my running mojo slightly, because of it. But concentrated on strength training and shorter runs. Christmas was a whirlwind of work and festivities. It’s a lot for a nearly 50 year old, mum of 4!! I had planned a Boxing Day run, but it didn’t happen. So today I got up and out my running gear on, no excuse. I found myself taking all the decorations down, tidying the house, 2 loads of washing and then at 1:30, tonight I couldn’t put it off any longer. Ive just got back from a 45 minute base run. I did London Marathon back in April, Royal Parks half in October. I have Hackney half in March and Milton Keynes half in May. So best I get my mojo back! Here for the support and tips. I follow John’s instagram, love your attitude and no nonsense approach!

Goal is to start! I started a 12 week training plan for 10k. This will not be a sanctioned race as there are not many races here, I just set up my own start/finish line etc. Obstacles- The weather is hot here the coolest is about 74 degrees at 530am. Im careful with water and electrolytes. Support- Im not really sure what support I need but any advice is welcome.
Hello!
Hello everyone, I joined earlier this week so introducing myself! 👋 I'm Laura, late 30s runner from the Midlands, UK. I have been a runner for about 12 years but after giving up alcohol 2 years ago I started taking it more seriously and I ran my first marathon in 2025. I am training for this years Edinburgh marathon and would like to beat my time. Excited to be part of this community!

1. Thursday I had one of my best runs lately. I had energy, the weather was nice and I didn't have any pain. 2. Not quitting 3. Obstacles this week- I hurt my arm doing push-ups and had 2 rest 2 days from lifting but I still walked and rested and was able to run by Thursday.
