Hows your summer?
Summer is here! This means kids are home, vacations are happening, tans are in... But it also means that reschedules and cancellation can happen, and business can slow down. If that's happening to you, it's not time to stress...it's time to take action. Posting, networking, following up, adding value, emailing, making offers, meeting people. I had a couple cancellations this last Friday and my wife said "great so you're coming home"? I said NOPE. Im going to use this time to market, edit video, post. This is the time you have to work on your marketing, take the actions. Don't just go home everytime you get cancellations. Plant some seeds in the marketplace before you go!! How is business going for you? Do you need to ramp up your marketing? Do you need to message people to get back in?
I’ve experienced a little bit of a slow down in June. I decided to start a new marketing campaign partnering with local Pilates studios so I’ve been working on that. I also started an email automation to go out to past clients who haven’t been in the last 3 months reminding them to book. I sent an email to past ClassPass clients offering a discount to come back directly.
Try before they Buy
I am reading a book literally right now called “just F***ing send it.. It’s a book about emails and how this guy has sold over $100,000,000 worth of different products for himself and others. Hes Talking about how he had lemonade stands as a kid and how he started adding other products like cookies and golf balls (location was near a golf course). He went on to say that one of the mistakes he made was… “Mistake #1: No cookie samples. I should’ve broken up a few cookies into little bite-sized samples. When you have a superior product you should let people try before they buy. I’ll bet we would’ve sold more if we had done that.” It’s just interesting to me. Why do you think all of these uber successful business people worth hundreds of millions like this guy and Alex Hormozi recommend having an “attraction offer”, or allowing people to experience what you do for free before they buy…but every massage therapist says to never do it?
I think this is really interesting. I’m not opposed to try before you buy with massage but feel like it needs to be a few minutes of “trying”. I give out 30 minute gift cards to our referral partners to give to their clients and I feel comfortable with that but don’t feel comfortable consistently giving out free 1 hour sessions.
@Michael Ortiz 100% down with that
They can’t buy if they haven’t heard of you
Saw this post just now and figured I’d share it because it’s true. “If nobody knows you exist, your product doesn't matter, your price doesn't matter, and your quality doesn't matter. Obscurity is a bigger threat to your business than your competition. Most entrepreneurs obsess over what they're building and forget that the market can't buy something it's never heard of.” What are you doing on a consistent basis to become known, to be found and to get out of obscurity? Obscurity: the state of being unknown

I run Yelp Ads and am on ClassPass to help new clients find us. I need to do some work around SEO, new partnerships and consistent social media posting

@Michael Ortiz I don’t think I necessarily do anything differently but my approach is that I use a small radius (5 miles of my location) and spend the least amount of money I can while still hitting a large audience. Meaning, Yelp allows you to choose how much money you spend and it tells you the reach you’ll get with that budget so I use the low end of the budget range. I determine if it’s doing well if I’m receiving phone calls and can get a couple of new clients per month through Yelp
You ever just been in a funk?
I was in such a bad mood yesterday. Just didn’t want To be at work. Don’t want To do anything. It got better as the day went on but I just wanted to be transparent that I get like this sometimes and then I’m not always on 100%. And that’s okay. This too shall pass. We do what we can or we do what we need to and keep taking small steps forward. What are you guys do when you get like that?

Thanks for being transparent, I don’t think this is talked about enough. When I get in a funk I decide what has to get done and what can intentionally be put off for a later date an remind myself that ups and downs are normal
Strategic partnerships
Have you spent anytime creating strategic partnerships for your business? With who?
