Hey everyone! 💜 I’m currently finishing up my book, I Called It the Universe. It’s a personal journey about finding my way back to faith, learning to recognize God in moments when I didn’t even realize I was looking for Him, and discovering that sometimes what we call the universe might be something much deeper. This book isn’t about having all the answers or having a perfect relationship with God. It’s about questioning, searching, growing, and finding faith in your own way. I’m officially in the home stretch! I’m working on my book cover now, and once that’s finished, I’ll be ready to publish. I’m excited, nervous, and probably overthinking a few things, but I’m doing it anyway! 😂💜 And this is where I need your help! I have a few cover designs I’m considering, and I’d love for you all to help me choose. I’ll share them here, so please tell me which one catches your eye and makes you want to pick up the book. Don’t be shy—I want your opinions! I’m looking forward to learning from everyone here as I take these final steps toward becoming a published author. 🌹 Here are the two covers I am going between for this.
Take The Next Step
One of the easiest ways to lose motivation is to focus on everything that still needs to be done. Writing. Editing. Formatting. Cover design. Publishing. Marketing. Reviews. Ads. Social media… 😵‍💫 But you don’t have to tackle the entire publishing journey today. You only need to identify the 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. Maybe today’s step is: ✍️ Writing 300 words 🔎 Researching five keywords 🎨 Reviewing one cover concept 📖 Editing a single chapter 📱 Creating one promotional post ✅ Finally completing that task you’ve been avoiding Small progress may not feel exciting in the moment, but it adds up. Books are not created through one giant burst of motivation. They’re created through dozens of small decisions to keep going—even when progress feels slow. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆: Choose one task you can realistically finish within the next 30 minutes. Complete it before you start worrying about everything else. Drop your one task in the comments so we can hold each other accountable! 👇

Roll Call 👀 Where Are You Checking In From?
We talk a lot about books📚 in here (and I 💙 that), but I’ve noticed something interesting 👀 People really light up when we get a little more personal and talk about life outside of publishing. So let’s do that for a minute. I’d love to know where everyone is from — city, state, country, wherever you’re calling home right now. 📍 I live in Illinois not too far from Chicago. Along with @Jeff Baer @Steve Gast @Susan Wright @Tara Adler @Angel Conway and probably a handful more!! I know @MJ Berst is in Wisconsin. I know we have @Bradley Deacon living in Vietnam / @Nicole Lesley in Australia Would love for everyone to drop it in the comments 👇 It’s always cool to see how global (and diverse) this community really is.

@Angel Conway it was bad. Horrible for some. I ended up working from home for the day. It is supposed to get bad again this weekend.

@Krista Brea Well....I like to keep doors open. Nowadays you never know what can or will happen. I already have a bachelor's in healthcare administration and IT has always been interesting to me. I would love to be a writer full time but I am prepared if that doesn't happen.

@Janine Penny It does have a couple spicy spice scenes, but I didn't want that to be the main focus of my very first book. and thank you!!!

@Terrance Gee Thank you so much! It is romance with themes of betrayal, healing, self-worth, and unexpected love. Here is the blurb for the back cover: After walking away from a man who broke more than her trust, DelaRose Sinclair is done dimming her light for anyone. Miami was supposed to be her escape — a business trip, a reset, a chance to breathe without the weight of someone else’s expectations. Then Jakob steps out of her messages and into her life. What started as late-night tension and mirror-edged fantasies becomes something real the moment his eyes meet hers. He’s steady where her ex was chaotic, attentive where she was ignored, hungry in a way that makes her remember she’s still a woman — deserving, desired, and deeply seen. Jakob doesn’t just look at her. He studies her. He listens. He worships with his hands, his mouth, his restraint — and his loss of it. But stepping into a new version of herself means facing the past that refuses to let go. When her ex comes crashing back into her world, trying to reclaim what he threw away, DelaRose must choose the reflection she believes in: The broken girl Sebastian left behind…or the woman Jakob touches like she was born on fire. Behind the Reflection is a seductive, emotionally raw romance about rediscovering your body, your voice, and your worth — and choosing the man who sees you clearly, even in the dark.
