Chronic Illness
How do you, as coaches, deal with personal long term illness? I contracted covid 19 in January of 2022 and ended up having symptoms of long covid for almost a year afterward, causing chronic fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, headaches, and generally feeling like crap. The problem with long covid is that it effects the autoimmune system in the body and can periodically pop back up when experiencing other illnesses or inflammation. Recently, I contracted an different unidentified virus that didn't match any of the tests. It hit my lungs and exacerbated my asthma, which had previously been under control. I ended up in the hospital for almost a week. My breathing is better, but the symptoms of long covid have resurfaced in the form of the fatigue, brain fog, and dizziness. Doing the simplest task is often exhausting and I find myself sleeping much of the day when my energy nose dives. Forcing myself to push forward only seems to make it worse. I have never been a high energy person to begin with, and this seems to be pushing my limits. I'm still practicing gratitude and trying to stay positive, but this has been really difficult. I know that some of you here have faced or currently face physical challenges, some even more demanding than what I'm currently going through. How do you get through them?

I have been dealing with chronic illnesses for 25 years. Mainly autoimmune diseases which tend to 'grow' together. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. One of the main things to do, which sounds obvious but people tend to forget, is to note down what makes you better and what makes you worse. Everyone is different and while people may have the same illness, they don't necessarily feel it the same way. You didn't mention how recent your hospital visit was or if you're on any medication. I know it's difficult when you don't know exactly what's happening. Hang in there. Things will get easier.

@John Bradley great to hear you're doing better.
Struggling
Hi I'm Aneal. My niche in Life Coaching is chronic illnesses as I have had a few conditions for 25 years. I'm hoping to be able to help people in similar situations learn how to get through the day. I guess people who don't suffer with one will find it hard to understand. It's not just physical, it's emotional too. It's about what could have been, what you lost and figuring out where you're going. Funnily enough, I've been struggling myself for the last couple of days. However, thinking of the irony of what I'm supposed to be doing has made me realise that it's ok for me to let this pass and then crack on again. Best Wishes

Invitation: (Get More Clients Challenge) @ 19-23 May
Do you need more high paying coaching clients? If so… I’d like to invite you to my NEW 5-Day Get More Clients Challenge! The Challenge will give you everything you need to: 1. Find committed coaching clients with money to spend... (instead of wasting time creating content on social media for “followers” who never buy anything!) 2. Get clients pre-sold on you and your coaching with ONE piece of content... (so you're the ONLY option in their eyes) 3. And sign them up for a $1,500+ package without being pushy or salesy (even if you've never had a paying client before). Here's how it works: The Challenge runs for 5 days (19-23 May) Each day is 90 minutes long. And at the end of each session... There will be tasks to complete… (aka FUN-work!) To make sure you take action and get clients. Sound good? The Challenge is free to attend. But you’ll need to REGISTER HERE for access. Let’s goooo!

Why your smartest clients get the worst results
I'll never forget the look on his face. My first ever business coaching client had just gone from making £1,000 a month to £160,000 in annual revenue. I was in shock too. Not because the strategy worked… I knew it would. I was shocked because he actually DID what I told him to do And that's the dirty little secret no one talks about in the coaching industry... Most clients don't implement a bloody thing! They’re too smart for their own good, they overthink things, and it stops them taking action. For example: When I was starting out, the hardest lesson wasn't what to teach clients. It was how to get them to actually DO what I taught them. See, most people collect information like they're building a library they'll never read. It's not about how much information you give clients… It's about implementation. I call it the "minimum effective dose" – what's the smallest thing I can get you to implement that will give you the biggest result? Early on, I was trying to do that with the carrot and not the stick. ie. just being nice and encouraging them. It doesn't work. Now I'm much more direct: "Look, what's your biggest problem? OK, let's solve it. But you're going to do what I tell you to do and you have to commit to doing it. If you're not going to do it, then there's no point me telling you to do it." Harsh? Maybe. Effective? Absolutely. The more systematised you make it, the easier it is for clients to get results. But they still have to take ownership and personal responsibility. It's a balancing act. Most people are their own worst enemy… you have to help them get out of their own way and hold them accountable. "You said you were going to do this. You haven't done it. What's going on?" They'll always have excuses. And it's about challenging them on those excuses. People don't like being held accountable, which is precisely why they don't get results. So here's my question to you: Are you being tough enough with your clients? Not mean or rude…
