Furiously Googles "Expo Go"... Welcome!
CV
Hello everyone! I'm currently looking for a new job... it's been almost 2 months now, and I haven't received any interview invitations from LinkedIn. I'm currently living in the Czech Republic, and local companies respond to CV through internal Czech websites, but foreign ones do not. My assumption is that the issue lies with my resume. I suspect that the problem may be that the job descriptions are not detailed enough and may lack information about the technologies I've used. Or perhaps my GitHub is scaring off potential employers? There are only two mini test assignments there that I've done. It doesn't look like a proper portfolio. Unfortunately, I've never dedicated time to my own projects for a portfolio and focused just on my jobs. Or is there something wrong with my LinkedIn profile? github: https://github.com/AlionaRozlach linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alona-rozlach/ What do you think? Do you have any advice? Thanks in advance :)

@Alona Rozlach Yep I just wasn't sure if there was anything else. I do see how the first experience and graduation years match up. Looks good! Are you targeting Junior or Mid-level positions?

@Alona Rozlach Sometimes you have to. I have no idea how many Unit or Visual Regression tests I wrote in my time at previous role. So I approximated and then noted that it and our TDD style allowed us to release a Savings account feature with much less defects than the other clients (iOS and Web) as an example. Think of this as getting your foot in the door where you can actually talk to someone.
Multiple module architecture
Hey guys! I don’t know how much I’ve been sleeping, but just a couple of weeks ago I heard about multi-module architecture in Android projects. What do you think about it? Are you using it in your apps already? Which way is better if you have multiple modules or like “clean structure” (packages: domain data presentation etc.) architecture?

My previous company was working towards it. The company I just interviewed said they tried and just opted for good package structure instead lol. I personally like the idea of being able to build with feature level modules that could be swapped in and out as needed, but haven't had the need for it yet. (Checking out the workshop)
Caching HTTP Responses
In the Pro Membership call yesterday we spoke about http cache and different ways to approach caching http reaponses. What is your approach for this problem? How do you achive it? How/When do you update/clean the cache? Let's make a thread under this post to share and learn more about it.

I have been thinking about this lately in anticipation of System Design interviews. It is something very touch and go based on the age of the application and the needs of the user base I would think. Like for uploading an image to a social media post. I was thinking, compress/resize to a thumbnail to show in the UI and similarly when send to the 3rd party API if it supports compression at all. Do we need to also store it in a local CDN or rely on the 3rd party API to give us back the post with the image quickly? Alternately, do we cache the whole post?
Server Driven UI Concept
In the advanced membership call yesterday, we touched on an interesting topic: Server Driven UI (or shortly SDUI). Some big companies like Shopify, Airbnb, Booking, etc. have implemented this concept in their apps, and it works very well for them. The main idea is that the BL stays on the backend, and the app retrieves things that it needs to render. Ofcorse, this paradigm is not applicable to each and every type of app, and probably that's why it is not spread too much. I've collected some resources/articles that are explaining the paradigm in more details, and maybe this is something that could work for you: https://shopify.engineering/server-driven-ui-in-shop-app https://engineering.q42.nl/server-driven-ui-at-primephonic/ https://www.judo.app/blog/server-driven-ui# https://medium.com/@tech.rapipay/server-driven-ui-80ae85603747 Hope someone finds this useful.

The company I was previously at did most BL on the server side and it worked well.
