THURSDAY THOUGHTS: Your Weekly Path to the Pro Game
Every single Thursday, I am dropping raw, no-nonsense tips right here on how to become a professional goalkeeper or secure a USA college scholarship. These aren't random theories I found on the internet. These tips come directly from my own brutal experience as a teenager fighting to get signed, and from my work founding Just4Keepers—where we have helped thousands of our students sign for pro clubs and win life-changing scholarships. Today’s lesson: STOP Waiting for Scouts. One of the biggest mistakes young keepers (and parents) make is waiting, hoping, and praying for a scout to magically show up at their local grassroots game. Could it happen? Yes. But DO NOT WAIT. Instead, you need to sell yourself. Find the names of the academy decision-makers and coaches online. Email them. Write letters. Find their socials and DM them! From age 13 until I signed pro at 18, I contacted EVERY professional club in the UK, at least twice a year. And guess what? Even though I never played for a pro academy as a kid, I still signed for Everton FC at 18. Why? Because they knew my name before they even saw me play. Putting yourself out there gives you an massive advantage. But a quick word of warning: contacting clubs only works if you are working your socks off physically and mentally every single day so you are actually ready when the door opens. Rather than write a massive post here, you can grab the full Just4Keepers blueprint for free: 👉 [Download my free Just4Keepers book: How to Become a Pro Goalkeeper] https://j4ksports.co.uk/collections/premium-e-books-at-no-cost/products/how-to-become-a-professional-goalkeeper-ebook-1 👉 [Listen to it on Audible] - https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/B0B75HWFTJ 👇 Have you ever contacted a pro club or scout directly? Drop a "YES" or "NO" below!

What’s your opinion on the ETC’s? My daughter went for two trials last month with one ETC and it felt as though in the first instance it wasn’t set up for keepers and secondly it was encouraging parents to sign up for paid coaching sessions that run alongside the ETC.
