Anyone tried VS Code with the Cline extension? I'm looking into it now. I used windsurf for an afternoon and did a lot until I run out of "credits".. Apparently Cline is free and you can bring your own APIs (several are supported). Not sure whether Cline is on the same level as Cursor (never tried) or Windsurf..
Self-hostable web search solution
Hi all! Great group and thanks Brandon for all the content. (hopefully) quick question. I see several tutorials using Serper (https://serper.dev/), Tavily (https://tavily.com/) or similar, for enabling web searches. All seem great products but they are not unlimited (understandably). Is anyone aware of a self-hostable solution which does just that? Ideally it would also be a drop in replacement for the serper/tavily/etc services in the code.. Thanks in advance! Andrea

@Vinod Tharian , hi! I don't think they are what I was asking but thanks for the suggestions. I love that LLocalSearch project particularly. From my understanding, scripts contact serper/tavily to run/offload the web searches. Since you are limited on how many queries you can run for free on those services, I just thought there might be some other project which does just that without going to some third parties (like serper/tavily). This project "whatever" would run the searches directly on Google/DuckDuckGo/whatever (not on LLMs), and return the results in the same way as serper/tavily (so that they can be used as drop-in replacements)...
