It's someones birthday!
Happy Birthday to the person who has quite literally made this community all possible! @Julie Brown my amazing mum! Not only did she give birth to me, she also raised me, brought me up alongside @Christopher Brown to make me who I am. She turns up to every event, in person and online (when she can) She believes in me, my mission, my purpose and always has my back! She lent me money when I wanted to do my breathwork certification, she had my back through my divorce, she supported me when I broke my shoulder overseas in Italy and she is just an all round superstar. Without mum telling me stories of her dad, John, this mission would not exist. Happy Birthday Mum enjoy Vanuatu!

The books that changed us
Hey Jammies! Today I thought we could reflect on something that had an impact, following on from @Anastasija Kulundzic and I's conversation on the book "The courage to be disliked" by Ichiro Kishimi & Fumitake Koga. I'd love to know the books you've read or listened to that have had a huge impact on you, the way you think, the way you act, behave and the way you go about life. I never used to be a big reader, in fact I think until I was 28 I had only read 3 books in total. 1. Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life 2. Kensukes Kingdom (a teenage book, for some reason really connected with me) I think here it was about the adventure, the survival and friendship. 3. Tiger eyes (I have no idea what it was about but it was a school project. Since then, I have collected far more books than I have read and I do intend to read them when I have balance and more structure in my life (when I quit my job and go full time here) It all started in 2023 for me, right as my marriage was falling apart. I found I was lost, had more time to myself and I went to learning. The first Book: The Resilience Project GEM: Gratitude Empathy and Mindfulness. This had such a huge impact on me it led me to my decision to fly to Vietnam and volunteer teaching English! The Second Book: Jay Shetty's 8 rules of love. This was my quest to see if I could save a failing marriage, see if I could learn anything about relationships and love. Turns out it was about these things, but the relationship to self and love of self and how we can apply that in life. The Third Book: The Courage to be Disliked This one had me engaged start to finish, an easy read with powerful lessons. Finally, a book I listened to "The Secret" -- taught me about the law of attraction and how powerful the mind can be. Now these books all have different meanings to me, they all have different lessons and if you want to learn more.. ask me in the comments! Now over to you all!!

I already shared about the one you mentioned in the post but the one that influenced me the most and became my favourite book (and I've been reading a lot more than before in the past few years) is Paulo Coelho's "The alchemist". I don't even know how to express in words what that book meant to me the moment I read it and how it shaped me into the person I am right now. I started dreaming bigger. I started doing things even though I was terrified. I started failing and not procrastinating because I ran away from failure. I started seeing beautiful nuances of this world. I started seeing more positive things around me. I started noticing new things. I saw the things I've never seen before even though I walked the same streets for years. I released myself from the chains society put on me and that I kept holding onto like they were a shield and not an obstacle. I really got out of my comfort zone for the first time in my life. And I was so excited about this life, oh God. I don't know why it affected me that much but I took everything I could from that book and I'm so glad I read it. Maybe one more I should mention would be "The monk who sold his ferrari" because it felt like one of those books you should buy everyone to read it and then go and live their best life😅 Of course not everyone would have the same impression and reactions like me but I really loved it. All the phases that are written there are helpful and one day I'm gonna implement them all in my life somehow🤞🏼
Happy Monday!
Hey jammies! What was the highlight or best MOMENT of your weekend?? Drop it in the comments… Or if you dare, create your own post! (Don’t be shy) For me, it was building the Christmas tree with @Danielle Armstrong It looks amazing, and we had fun doing it! She’ll drop the picture in the comments!
Happy Monday!
@Arthur Maddocks-Brown well I always thought about the worst possible outcomes, meeting the worst people, having a hard time doing anything, like life was a torture🤣 Now I see everything differently because now I see myself differently :) Yeah, it became a big part of my life and being silly is so important, I'm back to being a child🤣 OH there were so many beautiful moments <333 I went on my first trip to another country on my own, I started cooking (I haven't done it before) so I shared some of it with my friends and family and they loved it so I was over the moon, I met and petted and fed so many beautiful dogs, I went on protests in my country to try and make it less corrupt and better in every way, I ran 2 races with my best friend, I read some great books and etc. There are so many more and so many moments that just took a minute that I admired, that's the whole point❤️‍🩹🤞🏼
@Elizabeth O'Carroll yess, it's exactly that!!! The whole point✨🤞🏼

@Arthur Maddocks-Brown yes, he's SO cute🥹 I appreciate your work, a lot!!! And cheers to all the upcoming adventures and successes I know are going to come⚡ Yes, acceptance is a huge part of it all. I really don't find it that hard anymore to forgive myself, to learn from my mistakes and to give myself the same compassion I give to people I love <3 And yes, when I'm relaxed and not anxious and cautious I radiate a more beautiful energy and connect with people that are more like me <3 I would love to see all of your ideas come true! To connect with this community on some other level, to support everyone and feel the same in return, to be vulnerable and have a safe space to come to but also to celebrate wins like we're all a lovely team🤞🏼🍀
