I think personally that even leads that have a website are not to be ignored (completely). Why? Well, they may have a website, but if you can prove that your redesign will have more value, they will jump at the opportunity. To do that, try to prioritize function over aesthetics and show them how you can help them convert more leads. Even though you are a web designer, think like a digital marketer. Finally, a golden rule I learned lately, "offer what the business needs, not what you're good at". And good luck.
Discounts attract the wrong mindset.
If someone asks about the price before they understand the value, it usually doesn’t go well. That’s why it’s so important to show the value of what you do—whether it’s web design, SEO, or anything else. When clients truly see the impact you can make, the price starts to make sense on its own.

Great idea. I think this is why positioning is important, knowing your ideal prospect, their struggles, but most importantly, their mindset. A very short story: while working with a client on a project, I was so excited to explain how we can grow things, improve on the copy, basically "big dreams," while the client was only thinking about making ends meet, as he was a solopreneur. As you can guess, we didn't get very far. From that day, I understood the real impact of KNOWING your target audience like you know the back of your hand, because everything is built on top of that.

1. If you chase a quick buck, you'll keep running your whole life. 2. Life is too short to be taken too seriously. 3. Entrepreneurship is a skills game. So, the more you have, the bigger the picture.
Need Help with Pricing
I have a question about pricing (which was discussed so many times in all the posts I read), but my question is about a specific aspect of the pricing issue. You see, many people say that as you are starting, charge low (let's say $100 for a one-page website with simple SEO), and keep increasing your fees as you get more clients, testimonials, and trust. But the cons here (I think) are the following: ❌ You will only break even (at best) ❌You burn yourself for pennies on the dollar ❌You risk establishing yourself as a "cheap" brand, which could be a problem as you are scaling (if you do scale, since word of mouth - most efficient marketing strategy- will put you in a position where a $100 client attracts a like-minded one, and if you do increase the fees, you should explain that) ❌ Clients always expect and want more (since they see your work as so simple, it only costs 100 bucks) Now, on the other hand, I can do high-ticket offers, but since I am just starting, that may not work, since clients probably won't trust me. Some say take pro-bono work at first to encourage clients, but that would mean covering all the costs, which will break the project before it starts (It's not like I have a huge capital to start with). Still, I thought of a workaround, but I want your opinion on it (and hopefully, it can benefit someone here). I can offer a free trial where we only create the design using Figma, show the client what is possible, and maybe a "draft" of the website), show the value we can do for them, and then upsell them for a high ticket offer (well, at the start it won't be that high ticket, something between $500-$1000). That way, clients won't be blindly signing a deal with an unknown brand nobody has heard of. Looking forward to hearing your opinions about all this.

@Jonathan Baird Installments make sense. That way, the client is not scared off by the pricing, and I won't be working for pennies on the dollar. Thanks.
