We all ended up here for a reason… 👀
Some people became notaries to make extra income Others wanted freedom, flexibility, or a fresh start And for some… it completely changed their life. So now we’re curious: 👉 What made YOU decide to become a notary? Was there a specific moment, person, or goal that pushed you into this industry?

I love this question! In 2023 I had been a Project Manager for Solar. The Solar company I was working for paid (basic fees) for me to become a notary for the markets I was managing. I had this gut feeling there was a bigger reason behind this “gift” in my life. That’s when I found loan signing as a business, and invested in the training for myself. Three months later they had a major layoff. (The company is completely gone now) I immediately jumped to building my loan signing business. I became employed again for another solar company but part-time kept feeling I needed to grow my business. Then that company did another layoff hiring Project Managers from the Philippines to cut back on expenses. I jumped back into building my business full-time. Then another Solar company offered me a position and six months later they did another layoff and are also completely out of business now. Thats 3 layoffs in 15 months! At that point, I quit trying to get another job in the Solar industry. Since then, I have continued to build my loan signing business among a couple of other things that I do part-time to create income. I am so grateful for this business and it is my primary income as of today. I’ll also note that I’m a single mom and my divorce was finalizing just as my first layoff in 2023 happened.

@Melina Fuenmayor thank you so much! It’s been a journey for sure. I am grateful to be here, because I do need to grow my loan signing business higher levels. It’s been extra tough the last 2 years for direct business. I am proud I have been doing this for 3 years now, and not giving up. I’m feeling things slowly improving for direct business. It’s pretty competitive here in Utah County and Salt Lake County. Many escrow officers are still doing their own closings. I definitely need to learn more and grow again. I am grateful for what you offer here and plan to plug in more. 😊

Pictures of me with my Notary Assist backpack I won in another Notary skool communities monthly raffle. The Notary Assist backpack is a great help for carrying around the items needed for work. I was even able to fit my laptop in the bag and have room for everything else I need daily. Sorry for the lateness but have had a few jobs where I needed to pack my backpack and so I took pictures this time finally.
